Its also a 100 air mile radius. Im local now and i run this way. Seems that if you are in a daycab they let you off most things thinking you just dont know better lol. I was pulled over once for a level 3 inspection and had no log book. Just inspection book. He just told me its a good idea to keep one just in case. I run around 250 miles on big days and told him where i go. Seems DOT is fine with daycabs.... wish it was like that at scales when i was OTR

The rule that you do not Have to log doesn't mean you should not log. I am working for a no log company. I carry a laptop computer with me. It has a gps receiver and I run eclipse logs. You can do a google search for that or just go to Diesel Boss's website. I have a wireless printer scanner in the cab and can if need be print off a copy of my log at anytime. I as a driver believe in covering myself when ever I can. What the company wants to do is out of my control.
You do not have to log. Logging is a way to keep you from being overworked. It is a way to keep your wages up as it means they must hire more drivers. Logging is not a punishment handed down by Uncle Sam trying to keep you from earning a living.

I agree. I log all the time now..for the facts you state. To cover me. Just blew me away as i thought i was in big time trouble lol
nicholas_jordan Thanks this. -
well that's why I asked, no state can make rule of law that countermands the federal rule of law thence no county can countermand the state rule of law nor can municipal then we have "company" which can make rules and regulations but as long as those are harmonious with the rule of law then they can sit there and make rules ..... best advise one's self to keep the job & toe the line => what I was asking is that a company cannot "write it's own rules" where those rules are not supported in interview in CMV inspector's rule book, thus if I just boogie to I-20 Monday on the expectation that I can run - as we are discussing here - and what I was told does not match up with CMV rule book then I is one wet kitten standing in state hwy with no substantive law to stand on ..... it is strange that people make those rules, what is even stranger is if you try to feed it to DMV Officer, like my earlier signature: It doesn't matter what somebody says, the only thing that matters is what the law says.

why waste your time doing somethng you'll never use or need. you'll never be asked for it. -
i worked for 3 construction companies in 10 years. they all had the same rule. and apparently they were all told that by an audit.
couldn't tell you the reg. the companies said it. we all just played by the rules.nicholas_jordan Thanks this. -
200 - 400 miles per day was my average driving dump trucks. even did a couple of jobs that ran 650 miles for the day.

sorry to bust your bubble but they - totally seriously - already have DPS supervisors in coal-dark Crown-Vics fielding one-a-minute marked DPS Trooper vehicles ~ not even counting CMV Suburbans & are an example of invigorated enforcement that will be the subject of recruiter talks for Cornell L.I.I. within a decade .... Pioneer has already sold-out at Barnett ==> if person can stand, walk, and pass chem screen they get in a truck ....
-
good point ==> 200 - 400 miles per day & 650 miles inside a radius .....hey, wait a minute <==> 100 mile rule / 125 mile rule & airline radius or total miles in some time-limitation ?....
