Bleeding radios

I would guess that magnum repair shop is Bob's in strattanville pa.

 

So where is he located and how do you contact him?

is that the guy that's always trying to sell radios instead of fixing them? or is it the guy who works out of the Petro?

 

I don't know for sure but I know Dave monitors channel 2 when in the shop.

 

i guess it's another guy then.. i remember i was trying to get my radio fixed, and i could always here the so called "Radio Man" on Ch19 but never paid it any mind that he was always tryin to sell a radio and not fix one until i tried to get him to fix mine, he just kept tellin me my radio sounded bad and that i needed to buy a new one.. i got piss'd and went to the Loves and bought two antennas and started trimming copper wire, and managed to get my swr down to a 2, still not that great but i dont get the antenna warning anymore.. i'm pretty sure i need to ground the mounts or replace them.

 

I hope Bob isnt the Magnum repair center you were referring to. He never learned how to use an oscilloscope. He is a good businessman but a terrible radio tech. He fired his radio tech after he caught him stealing. I forgot the guys name but he was a genuine rf engineer unlike Bob who got into radios as a hobby. you cant just wake up one day and say I think Im going to be a gynecologist today. it takes many years of college and training, something bob never took the time to get. Ask bob what the bias voltage for a Motorola mrf477 transistor is and he will stare at you like a deer in headlights and maybe if he thinks fast he might give you a copout answer like "its preset at the factory". If he tries to say that, ask him "what if someone turned a screw the wrong way" if he was a real technician he would know how to use a volt ohm meter to reset the bias to the factory specs.

 

Bob has to listen to Fine Tune Cb shop in Amarillo Texas every day. Harddrive @ fine tune has never heard bob or any of his customers out in texas unless they were sitting at the truck stop 1 block down. Bob is a nice guy, but he is also a mudduck.

 

No Bob isn't Magnums repair center....Magnums repair center (if you can call them a repair center) is called "The Radio Shop" in Ontario California...That's the place I had to send my S45 HP to 4 times to try and get one problem fixed!

For the record, they never fixed the problem, only made the radio develop several other problems, some of which they did manage to fix after 4 months of returning the radio...
