Thanks for the update J. I was wondering how things were going for you. I'm sure you'll like flat bedding.

Sounds great, j-mac!! So glad you're enjoying your new job. Best of luck to you!!!

Thanks guys....Next step is picking up the truck....Then on my own! I am a little nervous about that, but then who wouldn't be? Just can't wait to get started.....
TMC seems like they are committed to my earning success so far, so I am optimistic.
Will continue to update.

Thanks Bubba. I'll look forward to it...But yeah, I have to admit, I was kinda worried about what I was getting into, reading some of the horror stories in here...
We started out Sunday, two weeks ago at his house in PA, after the game ofcourse, and right from the start we got along great. TMC is very in depth about asking your interests and hobbies, and I think they use that to match you with others, like your trainer. Anyway, he laid out clear ground rules from the start, such as no shoes in the back, and curtain zipped if smoking up front. And we were off.
When we started out he found out quickly that I could drive, and we started driving as a team right off the bat. Which was good for me, cause although I have plenty of experience driving, I drove a dump bucket which is shorter, and handles different, so I welcomed the drive time. He showed me different aspects of loading and explained securing different loads, and why certain methods were used. And was patient when it came my turn to take the lead in those circumstances.
His shower policy was to stop as many times as was comfortable for me, which resulted in about every other day. And he was completely open, and frank about his experience working for TMC. Like I say. I don't think they could have done a better job matching us up for training, and last Wednesday aside, which was not their fault, the loads, and routing, and support was amazing.
Now I know that I am still very green when it comes to evaluating this, but looking at it from a newbees perspective, I really think that based on what I have read from other companies out there, TMC seems to be in the top echelon of companies to get a job with.
Anyway, don't want to sound like a recruiting poster, I am sure others have had other, less glowing experiences, but I try to keep an open mind about the companies I work for, and place some of the burden of success on myself, and not totally on the company.
Thanks for the reply, and I'll be glad to talk to anyone from the boards here, should I run into them out there.....

Wow, sounds like you really got a good trainer and the company sounds phenomenal!! So glad it's working out for you!
-
Yeah, it really is....I am glad too. After what I went through with my last company I need a good one.....The true test is yet to come though....Starting next week I'll be out there, on my own...So to speak. I am leaving tonight around 8 pr 9 pm for Des Moines IA, to get my truck and its off on the mean streets.
So watch out everyone, slow ### newbie on the roads! heh, heh.....
Nah, I hope I'll do fine. I am looking to get a Pete 379 long nose, but probably will end up with a short nose, or 387. I don't really care what the truck is as long as I make good money.
I'll have more next week when I get home. No comp in the truck yet. And I also hope yet is the operative word here....heh, heh....
Anyway, thanks for the support, and will keep you updated.

Just think if you had gone with Maverick you might have had mr monkeybusiness notarps for a trainer.
Good luck, I hope it works out OK for you.
