I have the May installed 2000 watt Tundra inverter. Only thing running continously is a small refrigerator and occassional microwave.
Problem: A crackling, frying sound coming from the outlets !!! Not constant (obviously can only hear it when fairly quite) No smoke or "electrical burning smell," but unsettling at best. Anybody else ever have this or other issues with the Tundra (May installed) inverter?
Anybody with Tundra Inverter problems?

I'm having problems with the E1500 tundra inverter. It won't power up past 11.5 volts anymore which isnt enuff to power my 700watt microwave anymore. Going to pop it open today and check out the 8 fuses.

Had the same inverter running just my TV, one week, one night is started spewing smoke and died.
-
May will replace it if not older than a year. I just recently got a new one
-
For free they have have a one year warranty
-
Yup, replaced mine for free, had it 11 months before it went on the fritz. Replaced it with no argument.

I had mine replaced just before I quit too w/ no issues. I would have one of the shops take a look at your inverter ASAP. Make sure to make comments about it in your VIR, that way if something should happen, you'll be covered.

Picked up my new ride in Brooks today. Shop installed a new one at no charge. I'm going to try a little electronic connector lubricant to see if that helps.

hmm maybe thats what i hear sometimes, i thought the connection to the inverter wasnt covered enough and something was arcing but they seemed ok
that and sometimes the outlets just get testy and i have to wiggle the cord >.< thought it was just the cord itself -
I think that "special Lube" is what killed the first one!
dunchues Thanks this.
