Yep your are correct, I forgot about the 6.9, I had one of those in an 85 F350, then had one of the 7.3, I think it was an 01, but couldn't remember what the 6. something was. They gradually got out of my affordable price range. Both of these engines ran over 300,000 before I sold them.

For some reason i thought the na 6.9 was a ford engine. Now if we were talkin cummins years(in dodge) rather than powerjokes id be all over it

What year powerstroke.And since you have the the oil cooler out can u check the the hpop line,it has a snap to connect fitting and they have issues with leaking over time u can check this line with air pressure.Ford, navistar,offers an updated stc fitting with a one piece branch tube.

Did it throw any codes? And what were the code numbers? Inspect the ICP regulator, I see it in your picture. Look at the end and see if any metal particals are in the screen. If so the HPOP is done. Also could be in one of the oil rails in the head, may have a oring gone? More info on the issues would help!
