-
Some would say that's why you should
lease more freedom true you can have the
inverter microwave and tv you can even idle
your truck all day long you burn a gallon an hour
this job is not a joy ride it's work and Central
wont care about what's in your truck just get
the load there on time thats all that matters.
I will post what you should make as a lease
opp. -
When we were company drivers - we were able to have an inverter - but it had to be installed PROPERLY with heavy guage wire and fusesl... Still have an inverter as a lease op - having to pay for the fuel ourselves though, we use the Opti-Idle option
The trucks came with wirering for a CB, but you have to provide your own... and a good one is one you can afford... and no, Central doesn't have a CB shop - that's on your dime... and yes, wait to get the stuff to put in your truck... no room on a trainer's truck, and they would have their OWN stuff on their truck - no room for more than you and your duffle. And who knows, sometimes the trainers even buy their trainee a little 'graduation' gift - I know mine was frustrated because everything he was going to get me, my husband who was out a month ahead of me already got... so he gave me a 'hooker' - (fifth wheel pin puller) - and it was red to match our company truck

hey six i know its not a joyride haha but if im living on the road months at a time i going to be #### comfortable doing it. i have no problem working that how i was raised work and provide for your family the men are the bread winners in my family. i just dont see how i can run all that stuff without an inverter. central recruiter told me only o/o a l/o can have inverters put in on there dime. lady k if central dose not have a cb shop were do i go and how much ball park will it coast to get it up and running? do you still work for central if so how you like it? hows company drivers do there?

What it cost to lease a truck from Central ( this is before fuel, road taxes and maintenance reserve.
truck payment $ 645.00
occupatioal ins $ 32.31
tractor ins $ 5.77
accelerated truck $ 50.00
qualcomm $ 23.00
physical truck $ 69.45
heavy tax $ 10.45
prepass $ 2.31
Bond $ 45.00
Total $ 923.29 This number is what it cost to have the truck it's a must pay even on home time you will need to pay this amount.
You need to drive 1,080 miles just to pay this If you drove another 1,000 miles now you have fuel 6 miles to a gallon = 166 gallons =$ 664.00 your pays is .87 per mile x 1,000 = $ 870.00-fuel $ 664.00 your pay is $ 206.00
now add your surcharge at .40 a mile =$ 400.00 add $ 206.00 total $ 606.00- $ 50.00 a day to live on x 5 =$ 250.00-$ 606.00 you made $ 356.00 now you have road taxes and such lets say $ 60.00- $ 356.00=$ 296.00 after 2,080 miles of driving you
took home $ 296.00 you need another 1,000 miles to make any real money it would probably be around $ 606.00 more plus $ 296.00= $ 902.00 - $ 100.00 for the last 2 days of the week to live on new total $ 802.00 thats after driving 3,080 for the week.
You will not see 3,000 per week every week it just wont happen more like 2,400 to 2,700 per week would be more like it $ 600.00 net for 2,400 to $ 775.00 net for 2,700 miles remember deduct $ 200.00 a week to live on $ 600.00-$ 200.00= $ 400.00
and $ 775.00- $ 200.00 = $ 575.00 take home. I want you to know these numbers are based on my pay stubs from Central. Leasing a truck cost alot of money oh by the way don't ever go home it cost to much.Arkansas Frost and Lady K Thank this. -
New pay scale though... Anybody have the new numbers yet? I came up with something close to this which is why I'm still company, well that and I have a sweet ### new 386 so what more does a guy need out here? Lol
-
Please don't get me wrong I wish all new drivers the best always have always will.
To answer your questions I was a company driver for a year before I leased I had an inverter in co truck guess thats changed.
I got my Pete 386 because I had been traing for them for 6 months miles were good running for coors dedicated so I went for it. I was and still am single so I had no family to send money home to what I made was mine plus staying out for 3 too 4 months was easy.
Company trucks are set up for a CB you bye that and you can put it in in less then 5 minutes but you will need to go to a CB shop and have the antannas tuned to the truck a must do thing cost around $ 50.00. You can bye a cooler for around $ 100.00 for they dont last long truck bouncing and all. Sorry no microwave. If you lease you can have anything you want I posted a list of things I had including Direct TV look for 6pak4-two thats me. I posted what a lease opp might make based on his or her miles and I think the new Petes have fridges in then there just like the one i had in my truck. Im not telling you to lease and I no longer work for them I get nothing out of it if you did lease. My truck had every comfort I could find look for the post showing things in my truck. The reason I no longer work for them hurt my back had to take meds couldnt drive so we parted ways no hard feelings been gone a little over a year now thinking about coming back National Carriers would like to hire me there lease might work for me.
I will try to answer any questions anyone might have. -
My buddy who still hauls beer for coors said things have changed those numbers were based on my time I was making 90.5 cents per mile and keep[ the Pete best truck out there.Arkansas Frost Thanks this.

Yes we (I team with my husband) still work/are contracted to Central... You can go to a CB shop and have them install it - there is one near Fontana that we had do the wiring for our inverter (when we were company) and the wiring cost $100. That was for a BIG 2000 watt inverter and we were told it had to be 'professionally' done. As for the CB, you would need to check.... We are in a contract/lease and we are the type to stick with our commitments, so even in a rough patch we won't bail if at all possible. However if we weren't a team - and the miles/money wasn't going all in the same pot - I would say DO NOT LEASE! You are taking ALL the financial risk, with very little gain as a solo.
