It is a metal piece, used to ground the antenna to the passenger side mirror above the door.

Get a 5 1/2 ft. Francis, skip shooter, or firestick and vice grip mount it on the airline slide bar in the center of the back of the cab.

There are some pretty good threads on here about the Freightliner....... Tricky Rick's suggestion is one solution. I've tried it and it works. The 4 1/2 ft Francis did not. The 5 1/2 sticks up higher than the trailer so it will probably whack something sooner or later. But the Francis is inexpensive and easily replaced.

doing it o the air hose bar mount will have the antenna grounded? -
