Royal trucking company, West Point, MS. This is the company i'm with. I started in a 9400 with cummins/10 speed. all new trucks are prostar with maxcrap/auto. they just took the last 9400 off the road, all company drivers are in prostar's now

US Xpress has some, not all. When I spoke with the recruiter he could not guarantee that we would get one out of orientation. Trans Am is the only company I could find that has all automatics and would hire us down here (SW Florida). I think you pretty much have to buy or lease your own truck to get an automatic.

I currently drive for Britton Transport from Grand Forks, ND. Not sure if entire fleet is autos, but all the newer trucks are. They are volvos with the 12 speed auto.

I don't think anyone even makes automatic transmissions for class 8 tractors. Auto-shift, yes. Automatic, no. Huge difference.

I thought auto shift had a clutch and automatic, no clutch. my truck has no clutch. has a box with buttons on it
    r- reverse
    n-neutral
    d-drive
    l-lowest possible gear(computer controled)
    m- manual
    ^-shift up 1 gear
    v-shift down 1 gear

trucks are set up to start in 2nd gear, will drop to 1st if you lug in 2nd
there is an older volvo that a local driver has, it has a clutch for stopping and changing direction, shifting is automatic

US Express here in Delaware, OH is getting rid of all their automatics. Around 50 on the Kroger account. They said they are not getting the fuel economy and cost to maintain is increasing. Not all their drivers r liking it tho. They now have to learn to drive manuals. Its funny listening to the grinding of gears on new trucks, until some get mad and slam them in...Ouch. Take care and Be safe out there drivers.

Commodore Express in LaVerne, TN is all autos. Teams running west coast. They pair drivers up in the Volvos.
