(Quick recap) ~ He dropped the truck off at the dealer in Eau Claire PA last Wed and we picked it back up Thursday afternoon. The DPF filter was clogged again and that was causing the truck to shut off. Roehl asked them to look a little further into it because this isn't the first time that has happened and they basically said no...everything pointed to the filter being clogged, they forced the truck to do a regen, so that was the problem, end of story. He drove it back home Thursday, empty, and everything was ok..(as it always is..it only acts up if it's loaded and going up a hill).

He left out this morning, picked up a load of lumber in Brookville PA and on his way back to the interstate, it shut down in the middle of Brookville. After 2 tries, he made it to the Flying J while breakdown tried to figure out what they were going to do with it. They sent him back to the same dealer in Eau Claire. Of course the only thing they could find was that the filter was 51% clogged again, after only 126 miles. The mechanic took it for a test drive and couldn't get it to do anything, so Chris ended up hooking it back up to the trailer and took the mechanic for a test drive...The truck is only putting out 9# of boost going up a hill and the EGR valve is getting too hot which he thinks is causing the truck to shut down. Since we've already had everything in the EGR area replaced a month ago, the mechanic has no ideas and now has to get in touch with International to see where to even start with it.

It's a good thing we didn't buy this truck. I think I'd have given up on it a long time ago. If Roehl is going to go through these issues with all of the new trucks, there is going to be a lot of downtime across the fleet and some really unhappy drivers.

I agree with the last part. I'm looking at buying a truck but it will either be a glider with a pre-emissions engine or a used truck. I haven't had any problems out of my prostar yet but I know the day will come.

Dirty don't say that and jinx us all. I hope not but have a inkling maybe it will. Cheryl sorry for all the BS your going through. Maybe can swap outta that one into a complete different truck or stay with it since you've bugged it out so far. I'm rolling out at midnight for live unload paper rolls in Orlando. Place only takes 10-6 pm window appts. Which is fine BC no traffic and they guy there is quick to unload. Dirty they have any trucks there u liked? See the kW 680?

Well I had a bad tire on my trailer this morning when I started my day. Now I did drop the trailer on Friday so I missed the tire issue since I was in a hurry to get home so the blame for not catching it sooner is on me. Buttttt I waited until 6am this morning to call Maint. Got ahold of the usual early morning guy and he gave me attitude from the get go. Told me 3 times he just sat down give him a few minutes, i told him im taking this load on my hometime as a favor (which it wasn't, I just wanted to go home) and I didn't need the attitude. I got pretty crabby with him. Told him there's a TA south of Jacksonville but NO. I have to wait until 7:30 for another place even though TA had the exact same tire they wanted.

    Upsetting. Wasted my whole morning.

Two likely problems are causing this. They need to check to see if there is an exhaust leak in the system before it gets to the DPF filter and they need to make sure the Turbo is mounted tight.

Lantern wants a KW. I'll take a Pete with the 48" sleeper. I forgot to get some pics of the Pete's.

All they had were Pete's setup for car hauling, had 48-63" sleepers. So I got to climb into one ans see what a 48" flat top sleeper feels like, and honestly, I loved it. I may end up going to the 63" sleeper since I stay on the road for 20+ days and that 48 will seem to shrink lol.

The kw's we looked at were nice, they had an '05 and a '09, Both powered by twin turbo c15 cats. I definitely liked the Pete more though.

We stopped by the Freightliner dealer and looked at a daycab Coronado since that's the only Coronado they had, I was actually impressed with it.
