You can also bring in a truck from a 3rd party lease/fiance or if you have the cash paid for. The truck needs to be 3 years or less old and there are length and weight limits.

All I'm saying is on average, 3000/wk is not the norm. Read the word average. More than likely if you have 3000 + in one week (pay period) your next week (pay period) will be less.
Realize, that your input on this thread, IS part of the research people are doing. Your original post stated 3000/wk is not hard to get. Now you state you can't verify the miles are out there and your answers are vauge? And if you don't have time to spell it out for "them", then why post? -
We all know trips run into the next pay period so last week may have been a big 1,800 in 5 days but now you have 9 days to get say 3,500. Doesn't add up too 6,000 for 2 weeks but thats how it goes. A good goal is to average 10,500 remember that excess mile fund Central has keep it real and in your favor.
It's what you do in a month that counts. The more you make the more Central takes. -
petey as far as all the extras what others have said is good. Here is my $.02 worth. In a company truck you can have an inverter installed if done properly. They want there mechanics to do it but if you have it done some where else they want it inspected to make sure it was done right. An inverter in a company truck is a waste of money in my opinion. You can buy the 150 watt power strips that plug into the power outlets and they will run most of want you want. When I was in a company truck I had a power strip that ran my laptop and tv, another one that ran corc-pot and once i got my fridge on for just the fridge. With the opti idle on most of the trucks it will turn on so the batteries will not run down. Microwaves take lots of wattage and are unnecessary in a lease or company truck. I used the microwaves at the truck stops and had no problems. Don't buy any of the big stuff till you have been in the truck for a month or more. Trucks have limited space so wait until you know how the space works for you. Any fridge will take away one of your storage units, so live on the road for a month or two to find out what you can give up and what you can't. As for the CB just get something decent that you can afford. They are easy to set up to work for what you need to start out. If you get a Cascadia get a metal ground rod mount to go into one of the mirror holes or the ground will never work for any CB. The rest of the truck should have no problem connect a basic CB to work for what you need to start out. My best advice is this.... Don't spend tons of money until you know trucking is for you. I no longer work for Central but now have my own truck with lots of extras on it, most of witch I bought cheap off of ebay or craigslist from new truck drivers who spent tons of money on a truck they couldn't keep. Take a year or 2 and see if trucking is for you if it turns into a career and not a job then look into building your home on the road. If it's just a job then save your money and pay your bills. When you move on you will be ahead.
tiger 4, Adra and biggbowler Thank this. -
I just wanted to say thank you to Central... We had some fun with our truck being in the shop. They didn't HAVE to work with us re: the lease payment and money due, but they did. Things like that make us grateful we choose the company we did to start out with...

dose central give you ezpass toll pass and pre pass for the scales and everything or do we pay for that out of pocket?
-
They give you an ez pass that will also let you bypass weigh stations (sometimes) the ezpass is only good in the ne and mid west for tolls. All other tolls you have to pay out of pocket or get a comcheck for. Either way put your recipts in your trippac and send them in with your other paperwork. I was always reimbursed as a company driver, as a l/o or % you pay your own tolls.
