This truck is kicking my butt. Here is a little back history on what we have done: Original motor/truck is a 94 model in F'liner with a DDEC III. Pulled the top off a piston and bent the valves. Hubby found another engine(92 model F'liner), but after we had it installed, almost, I realized it was a DDECII. I changed the gear set, camshaft, rocker assembly, and injectors. Had mechanic come set injector height, valves, double check my timing, etc. It cranks and runs, but had a dead miss to it and lots of blue smoke like fuel. Computer stated that #6 injector wasn't firing. Did cylinder cut out and either off/on didn't make a difference on that injector. Mechanic left. Changed injector, put jake back on, cranked, still missing/smoking. Pulled apart and changed injector again....same thing. Disconnected wires to solenoid on injector and the smoking improved with the disconnected injector. Swapped #5 and #6 injectors just to see if the problem followed injector.....no. Still #6. Pulled wiring harness from injectors and inspected from end to end. No cuts, frays, pinches, bent pins or anything. BTW, this harness was only about5 or 6 mos old on the original engine. Also have changed the ECM(borrowed from a buddy) and the problem persists from one to the next.

Any ideas on this b/c I am about ready to set fire to this thing! I need the truck for grain harvest and got a job for it, but I have been down 2 mos now with this problem. HELP!

Also, the current thru wiring harness to all the injectors was exactly the same, so I am leaning against wiring or injector issue. Now what?

I sugest bad piston. turn ignition off and jump starter relay. you can feel sound of compression in every cilinder, if compression is bad you can feel how it "skips" cylinder.

when engine runs pay more attention on crankcase vent tube. You can see smoke when engine misses bad cylinder.

I am about to scream and blow this sucker up. Pulled the heads and found bent valve. Changed it, new head gasket, put back together. Still missing on 6. Mechanic suggested pull #6 injector and blow thru listening for air in intake and exhaust. What else? I am at a loss! Still got blue smoke rolling from it like it is fueling constantly, or not being burnt off. Any ideas now?

I just cant figure out why computer would show 6 not firing, but I got blue smoke rolling and fuel in hole when I pull injector. Even swapping 5 & 6 didnt solve. Cyl cutout test done and you could tell there was no diff in that cylinder when turned off

Did you by chance roll the piston down in #6 cyl when you had the head off to check for cyl scoring?
