Coffee for a morning boost until the rest of the brain wakes up, Roackstarr has a back-up if I'm 80 miles from the nearest coffee.

Gotta have one or two cups of coffee in the morning to get going. I'll drink energy drinks occasionally when I need a mid-afternoon pick me up. My company frowns on energy drinks because dehydration is a problem in the oil field.
I showed up to CDL school one day with an Amp energy drink and the instructor insisted I throw it away because he said they made student drivers too jumpy.

Not much on the energy drinks. I have tried them a time or two, but didn't like the taste. I enjoy my coffee. I have gotten to the point that I grind it myself and use a french press, which tastes much different from regular drip. With luck, I will be joining you out there one of these days, and I intend to bring my coffee gear with me. Oh, and by the way: black. NO cream or sugar/sweetener.

    Stay safe out there everyone.

I brew 5 cups of coffee in the morning, fill my Pilot mug, and it will last me for several hours (I'm a slow drinker), then I will drink a couple cans of Mtn. Lightening (Walmart Mtn, Dew) the rest of the day.

I try to plan my routes around Pilot coffee. Nothing wrong with black coffee for a morning boost and halfway through a shift. I kept a monster zero in the fridge for backup if I was dead tired, but that didn't happen after I was forced on elogs and got adequate sleep.

20 oz Dark Roast coffee 2 creamers in the morning
12 oz of the same in the late afternoon

I come from an aviation maintenance background.....government doesn't like you to be hopped up on any of those energy drinks...whenever the FAA came in for an inspection the second item on our readiness checklist was to remove any energy drinks and empty cans of said drinks from site and the hangar...could have all the coffee you wanted any type of coffee/espresso/capucino whatever....but not red bull

besides Why should I spend 3 bucks on a 12 oz can of an energy drink when I can spend that same 3 bucks on 2 or 3 cups of coffee.....just sayin'

The question isn't the value, its preference. I truly enjoy the taste of a few energy drinks and drink them for that reason. Could care less about the energy.

If you like sweet drinks that have no sugar try Crystal Light or the Wall-Mart brand. This keeps me away from sugar which can be bad for you and especially if you do not exercise alot.
