Have CDL permit, need free training(or low cost)

    I am currently in ND working construction and my permit is gonna expire. Any info on where I can go to get CDL without paying for training. I won't go to the major OTR companies I will only go for oilfield companies. Thanks.

    Hey, I have the same issue as you do.

    I discovered two experienced independent truckers in my church.

    Each has their own trucking company. Both have agreed to provide for me OJB as much as I can handle. When I have sufficient practice and experience to take the driving exam, I will do that at that time.

    For now, as soon as I can handle the rig, I will begin to be paid for tandum runs with each of them.

    Although, I am retired, this will give me the one year experience, with a trucking company and at some future time, I can consider my options.
