I understand very well about the loud minority of unhappy people, this is why I went to a truckstop
(Pilot exit 36 Charlotte NC) and asked drivers in the fuel island about the company they drive for.
As much bashing as I've seen on this forum about the big carriers and then talking to drivers from PAM, US Express, USA truck, Schneider, Swift, etc. I found that none of the drivers bad mouthed their company. Some had minor gripes but nothing serious.
One Schneider driver complained about the new workflow program, one US Express driver said he wasn't getting the miles he wanted, but was overall happy.
I will keep JB in mind, still interested in intermodal in the future.
For now, I've got a pre hire with Schneider, for the tanker SE region. I have a phone interview today with the recruiter.
Two of my instructors were ex tanker drivers and told me that tanks was where the money was.
I finished school, got my CDL with X endorsement.
I don't know where the future will take me, but I plan on getting there in a truck. -

I worked for JB Hunt doing intermodal out of Harrisburg. Wasnt bad. FM had his own ideas of what your daily miles should be. He sat the goal higher then company standards. If you didnt meet his standards you heard about it.

I am assuming DCS is dedicated? Have talked to a few recruiters for Hunt & of course, it all sounds good. No one said anything about having to go to orientation. I'd rather have 3 root canals. Anyway, out conversations were only about OTR, which now I'm reading, seems to be the worst position to have w/Hunt. I like OTR. Is this true?

if you want otr find a small company that runs west coast and has big miles...otr at hunt you would be better off to work at a gas station. Hunt is getting away from otr and giving it to Owner Ops. if you want to stay out and run try hunts ppg account. i had a friend did this and made 1100 a week gross and stayed out 3 weeks with 5-6 days off

all hunt is doing now is regional and dedicated..... they have good opportunities.
