I just accept the load, then if there are reasons I can't do it I get with dispatch, but very rarely get one I can't do. Sometimes I have to run a different schedule than I prefer, but can usually do it. Communication could be better, but I keep busy enough to keep me happy. I've averaged around 2750 miles/week for the past couple years. Every week isn't that much, but if I average my weeks out that's where it is at. It helps that I've been here long enough that I've been to a lot of the customers and know hope they operate. Hope things get neuter for you guys.

I hate this auto correct.
I hope things get BETTER for you guys.
That looks better. Lol -
I'm not talking about situations like 'I don't like to drive at night' or 'I don't want to go to XXX'.
I'm talking about I'm willing to run anything they offer me that can realistically be picked up, and delivered legally in the time frame they state on the load offer.
something is very wrong.
Oh, and I recently sat over 36 hours at a customer waiting for an empty trailer on a weekend. Crete wouldn't send me somewhere else....or pay me to sit and wait.
I did get paid detention for another load I pulled a few months ago, where the customer refused the load due to the BOL being incorrect. (not my fault) I sat at the customer over 24 hours. Crete paid me $5. It's so nice to be treated like a professional.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I fill out a detention form every time I sit for 2 hours. I never keep track to see how many I actually collect, but probably about 50/50. I've had to sit overnight before when a receiver was behind our broke down, and got paid $120. Usually I'll get anywhere from $6-20 on my check for a detention from week(s) before. I should keep track, but I don't. Usually the filling out of the form is therapy to keep me from being unprofessional. I don't have a lot of detentions, sometimes I get a lot in a month, sometimes very few. A fast as sitting waiting for a load, in 4 years I haven't had to wait an extended time more than a handful of times. I can only remember 1, but there probably was a couple others. Usually was waiting for a trailer. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I usually get a load offer (preplan) within 15-20 minutes of sending empty call. Sometimes it's not real productive and I have to play some qualcomm back and forth, but usually can remedy situation. Usually when I have problems, it's because I'm out east, I have pretty good luck otherwise

they tell you when to wipe!! and if you dont do as they say you'll be written up etc.....i worked there 6yrs...got tired of being a puppet and sitting....as a mother after surgery i decided it was not in my best interest to return based on a msg i got whenmy brother died )sorry but fix that trailer first)...best of luck but dont burn your bridges!! cpm means nada sitting at the truckstop for days!! miles equal money not cpm..no miles no money

the "Suggested" route is to cover there ###...more often then not i drove more miles then i was paid and there response when i protested "Its a suggested route"...every statement and move they make is dictated by lawyers....thats one of them..the word suggested was well thoght out!!

i wasnt fired but im gone....if your a team and/or can get on the good buddy list youll do ok..i emphasize OK!! but if you have a little self respect left and refuse to kiss ### you may not fair as well......the prob with self proclaimed own everything no debt companies etc is its no biggy if you sit..my new co has truck payments therefore sitting is NOT an option...the only thing ccc had left that i liked was the profit sharing but now that im investing in other things im better off...

Do they still have you try to get a customer signature on the detention form? I never had any luck with it when I worked there.
