When we went through it in '09, phase 1 was for 30 days and phase 2 was supposed to be 60 days but since we signed on as a team, they put us in a special fleet that only required half that because they were in desperate need for teams at that time supposedly........

Why go any farther? If some one said this tastes like shizit would you take thier word for it or try it yourself?
There's a lot of bad talk about them for a good reason.

    Congratulations!
Now that you have your CDL-A it's important to protect it by keeping it clean.
Anything negative on your driving record will make it much more difficult to be
hired by any Big truck truckin' companies worth considering.
That being said, what is it about C.R. England that interests you?
Would you prefer to be a company driver or a lease operator?
Are there any other companies that you've looked into?
Where do you want to be in two years?

Aftershock is right, that one is last pick as should be CRST. If you just finished school some of the starter ones are Con'way, Werner, Knight. I would check those out first. Congratulations and good luck.

    Choosing England is easy.
However, the part of your post that I've highlighted is not so easy there.
Then again, you might get lucky.
There's also a good chance that you'll begin and end your drivin' career there, ---
all in about a couple of months. IF the Sons-0-Chester are the only one's who'll hire you, ---
brace yourself. It could be a rough ride.
    Choose wisely.

I hope you'll keep us informed.

I agree with aftershock and the others. I'm not one to bash a particular company however, Englands turnover rate is extremely high, especially for a mega-carrier. It seems that if you don't want to lease then they don't want you around. I think they are in the business of training and grooming newbies from the ground up. You are much more easily persuaded into leasing this way.

There are a lot of companies out there to choose from. The less known the better!

Phase 1 and Phase 2 training is not altogether based on time, it is based on total amount of miles combined.

I believe it is about 26,000 to 30,000 combined miles that covers both phase 1 and phase 2 training. Phase 1 training is 15,000 to 18,000 miles and Phase 2 is 11,000 to 15,000 miles. Though I know somone who did 42,000 miles in phase 1 (because they wanted to stay with their phase 1 trainer) and only spent a week or less in phase 2 training (because they really didn't need anymore miles).

I believe it is 430 a week in phase 1 and 0.12 cpm phase 2, so if you and your phase 2 trainer does like 6,000 miles that would be 720 bucks. But if you have a slacking trainer, you may be getting less than 430 a week phase 2.....

    Hope this helps.......
