I have had a situation like you stated and had to go over my 14 to find a place to park.I am on paperlogs but my co.tracks us on Qual-Com.I just logged it like I done it and made a note of why I done it like that.Never heard or had any problem from Logs or Safety Dept.

so let me get this right, only asking because I've been driving for only a month. If i drive for 13 hours and 59 min every day for a month and then one day drive for 14 hrs and 1 min, I'm in the shetter, correct?

I don't know who you were referring to from your post, but if it was my post telling you that you can only drive 11 hours within 14 hours and then you have to stop at the 14th hour means you can only drive 11 hours, period. You can drive that 11 hours within 14 hours after you started your day. If you hit that 11 hours before the 14 hours are up, you must stop driving at the 11th hour. If you worked during the day and you only drive 5 hours when that 14th hour comes, you must stop driving at that 14th hour. You can work, but you can't drive.....until you have stopped working, and have taken a 10 hour break? Does that better describe what you need to do?

If you drove 13 hours and 59 minutes you are in violation of the 11 hour rule. If you drive 14 hours and 1 minute you are in violation of the 11 hour rule, and the 14 hour rule.

Stop after accumulated drive time of 11 hours within 14 hours of your start time. Stop driving upon reaching the 14 hour after you started work, regardless of the hours you actually drove.

Yea, the 14 hour rule sucks. I've had good planning and had 2 rest stops within my 14. I got to the first one and it was full. Got to the second and it was full, so i parked illegally to avoid a 14 violation. (not in the way and not a hazard) Cop gave me a ticket for not parking in a spot at the rest stop. He said i should have gotten there earlier. If we all got there earlier there would still be no parking lol. Sometime you really cant win. My suggestion, plan at least 2 stops within your 14 so you have an alternative if running late or its full.

How you make money if you driving by the log? I don't need 10 hours off, I cant sleep more than 6 hours a day. If Im 5 days on the road, I will make them worth it.
