Western Pacific Truck school Stocton ca ??

This is a link to a thread about this same school located in Modesto. +340 messages in 18 months. I know schools can vary widely between locations but the OP and many others seem to like the Modesto school.

 

I know a couple guys that went to WePac in Stockton and were happy with it. Thats my thread on their Modesto campus and I was happy there. They do have job placement assistance but most of the places they refer you to are for otr positions.

 

I went to Western Pacific in Portland Oregon, and would recommend them to anyone that wants to be treated with respect, and wants to really learn to drive.

 

I was interested in either WP in portland or IITR in clackamas. I want to try to work for Roehl or STI after, do 6 - 12 months otr before looking local (or continuing OTR) ... anways I heard WP is not accredited and IITR is the only accredited school in oregon. Is this true? And what are your thoughts on the Job placement in WP? I noticed their actual training facility is pretty weak looking compared to others, but I have been treated with respect by their staff so far. Let me know

 

I am currently in the western pacific modesto school just started on mon and got my permit today. i highly recommend them the teacher elizabeth goes between the modesto sacramento and stockton terminals and teaches the students. She is very knowledgeable and was in the industry for alot of years. that insight helped our class when she was teaching us and helping us learn the new california drivers handbook and prepare for the new tests. And as far as only recuriting for otr their placement specialist can help you find a job to fit your situation yes they have otr recruiters come in but thats just for your info and to give you a feel for whats out there and if thats what you want out of a company

 

what companies hire from that school?

 

So far we have had gordon/gti;covenant,and werner recruiters come by and are waiting for us xpress next week but they work with ALOT of companies they have an excellent reputation in this area swift hires from them Northern refrigerated/poppy state will watkins shepard and the list goes on and on. They have lifetime placement assistance and you usually have a job before you leave school. They have a lady that all she does is help the students find jobs.

 

how much is the school.

 

I think the cost is in the 5k range but i got a wia grant that paid for it all through unemployment.
