New York man killed in I-94 crash

CHESTERFIELD- A Buffalo, N.Y., man died shortly after midnight Saturday when his car left the westbound lane of Interstate 94, crossed the center median and hit an eastbound tractor-trailer.
The accident occurred near 26 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township.
When the car collided with the semi-truck, the truck rolled onto its side and skidded through the median and into the westbound lane, where it was hit by oncoming traffic. Two sport utility vehicles drivers hit the semi-truck. The drivers of the semi-truck and the two SUVs were not seriously injured, said Sgt. Kenneth Anderson, accident investigator with the Chesterfield Township Police Department.
Anderson said the Buffalo man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The accident closed down both east and westbound lanes of the freeway for more than five hours as police and emergency crews removed the tractor-trailer from the median and cleaned up the road.
The trailer, which was carrying paper products, was straddling the grassy median and blocking both lanes, Anderson said.
Chesterfield Township Police and Fire Departments, Medstar Ambulance and Michigan State Police Richmond Post responded to the scene. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, Anderson said. The accident still is under investigation.

sorry for the truck driver.. he needs to have to deal with this. just part of the job. glad driver is ok. this happned to me but on a side street with crack heads, i jammed brakes.. and still broke my hand.
The best is not to avoid and except impact.. God be with you!
