Hey all. I have been surfing this site for quite some time now. I got out of trucking with 10 years experience back in the early 90's. I have recently retired from a sheriffs department and have been hired to drive for a local small (25 trucks) company. I will be out with my trainer starting Monday morning. I am a little nervouse but really looking forward to it. I have missed being on the road and always knew someday I would return to driving. Looks like that day has arrived!

Thanks Bumpy, and I no longer have arrest authority. Probably a good thing. I am finding many changes. Some I like, some I don't, some I really don't understand. Hoping it will all come together reasonably painlessly.

well the first two days went pretty good. Seems I didn't forget as much as I was afraid I would have. Need a little more time getting used to using the qaulcomm, and other company policies. They got all 14hrs out of me yesterday but only about 10 today. Looking forward to tomorrow.

    Bumpy Thanks this.

week one in the books. All in all went pretty good. Could still use some backing practice which I am sure I will get plenty off. They put me in some pretty interesting docks this past week. I guess it's their training route. Did not see much of the country, but I saw plenty of the Chicago, Milwaukee area. Looking forward to next week.

Maybe just plan on "practicing" till the end of the line? Thinking this way has made it easier for me. Remember when backing: It is no crime to get out and look..Even a couple of times. Their are no do-overs..Yes..I do know a little about that.:biggrin_25525:
