Thanks for all the suggestions, I guess I should be clear, I don't mind pulling flats, I just want to get some time in on steps too. DirtyRabbit, I know how nice those sleepers are on the 660's, I've delivered plenty of them. As for find a truck to pull hills, I know that probrably won't happen. I just got spoiled delivering brand new W9's, 660's and T800's. Speced out with 550 or 600 horse Cummins and an 18 speed. Most of them governed around 85 or 90![]()
Looking for a good stepdeck company

I looked into Daily but right now there only hiring guys with OD load experience. Kinda a bummer, they seem like a good company
I am still looking into ATS, for some reason I just can't pull the trigger with them. But I havent crossed them of my list. Also just to clearify I really don't like running Canada, but I'll go any where that pays well. Like I said I'm looking at this as an opportunity to find some GOOD frieght lanes while I'm a company driver and getting hung out some where waiting on a load wont kill me.
Right now Keim TS is definatly on my short list. I really didnt want to go with a "Training" company but they seem like a pretty good company. I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of freight you guys usually haul? Do you guys have freight coming thru the Dayton OH area so I could stop by the house on occasion? Do they pay percentage? If you don't mind me asking what do you average weekly? (You can PM me if you want) Whats there average length of haul? How is there home time? Sorry for all the questions I'd just rather hear it from a fellow driver than a recruter.
To everyone that responded thanks for the suggestions. I'm still looking so if anyone has anymore I'd appreciate it.CAXPT Thanks this. -
I looked into Kaiser, there pay is just way to low. It would be nice to drive around one of those large cars all day. I hate to say it but I would probrably take a small pay cut (I mean very small) to drive a nice truck. But they start at .36 a mile, I was makeing more than that when i first started driving. I also told the recruter that I'd like to get home atleast every 3 weeks to a month tops and she laughed at me, told me to atleast double that number. They tarp everything and only pay $15 for it. They only run ltl, lots of stops, lots of tarps and retarps. The recruter also pointed out that they use paper logs and eluded to the fact that they don't want you to tell them you don't have the hours. I don't mind logging creatively, but I don't like being told I have to. I have worked to hard and spent to much money on getting my cdl and keeping it clean to let it get ruined. It's not even worth risking for what they pay. I'm good they can keep there nice trucks and there $.36 a mile.
Also they have a pretty poor safety record. That might be why they where willing to take me even though I dont meet there requirements. One of her questions to me was what's your DMV like. When I told her it was clean and I had no CSA points she was more than willing to lower there requirements for me.

I think I will have 3 out there, Yellow Pete, Cream Cascadia & Blue Cascadia. Several more on Tuesday and Wednesday. Are you going to the port?

I'm going somewhere in the city and im reloading coils near by, If I was pulling an open deck I would have been at the port for sure. We catch reloads out of a warehouse down there.
