Any new info on gypsum express ? I found some info on here but would like something newer. I filled out thier app and they want me to come in for a road and drug test monday. Thier 200 miles from me. I don't mind the drive there. I would have to find a ride there a few days later to start orientation. Thats 600 miles and gas money plus paying someone for a ride.Beside some of thier truck haveing small sleepers they don't seem that bad.
I also so check out hogan flatbed. Not sure about them. They dangle that 50 cpm in front of you.I really want to stay away from big companys. I called jaro also. I like that thier old school no oriention, paper log and no q-com. they don't pay enough $750.00 to 850.00 a week. i have had it up to my head were I am now.Time for a change but I want some were that I can stay for another 10 years.

They have a yard in aliquippa, PA right by a place I pick up cement aswell, all of their equipment doesnt look too bad, tiny sleepers but I see more and more conestogas out of there.dropdeck Thanks this. -
I've known Jonh (the owner) for a few years now, and the one thing above all else that i can say about the man is that he cares about the people that work for him. If it was just about the money, he wouldn't maintain an active CDL. He has and continues to get behind the wheel himself when needed and isn't afraid to do a run himself.
Yes, the sleepers are a bit small, but they're a regional company. Meaning their average run isn't longer than the clothes you can fit in that sleeper. John is big on family so he makes sure that his drivers get home time when they need it. Also if you're a racing fan, he's been known to ask a driver leading up to race day if they can/want to drive the hauler for one of his teams. He owns 5 at last count, along with 2 tracks near the home termianl in Baldwinsville.

Depending on what runs they're going to have you do, you could end up hauling anything from coils out of Oswego, or beer out of Baldiwnsville, and all points in between. They have flatbeds, and dry vans. Not sure if they have a reefer division, but i wouldn't put it past John to have one. They also own their own towing and recovery service, "big red towing". So they can pretty much put you in just about anything you want to do there, provided you have the endorcement for it.
I almost went there myself but i wanted to get the heck away from my family and regional just wasn't going to get me far enough away for long enough. LOL. I hope that helps a little with some info about the company.dropdeck Thanks this. -
Thanks for your info. I made my mind up today that I'm going to take the job. I go tomorrow morning to take a few test. I will post up dates with my experiences.
