I think Canada and California are brothers.... too many stupid regulations that make it not worth the time/effort.
-
I agree with California...but if your willing to put up with these rules (and learn/understand them) money can be made with Canada.
The rates reflect the troubles one must take.
Just want till CARB kills off older trucks in/out of California.... -
I am not allowed in California after Jan 1st 2013, so I'm getting my fill of it this year LOL
As for Canada, i know the money is there, but not enough for me to justify buying a different truck... just like I'm not buyiong a new truck just so i can run to California. -
I hear ya. To each his own. I wouldnt consider Canada if my rig wasn't legal with a permit.
My rig is good to Cal until 1/2014 - then it comes off my cab card.SHC Thanks this. -
How is a 1999 KW good till 2014??
From the CARB site, your truck was banned last year LOL -
Actually, I thank you for bringing this to my attention. While I was correct, my plate
changed this year and I neglected to update it. That might not be so good if I ran into California.
It is updated now!
I registered with CARB and was given additional time.
My truck is valid until 1/2014 based on the year and the fact that I took advantage of their pre-registration period. Here is the section I registered against:
Small Fleet Provision for Heavier Vehicles (1-3 trucks/buses) and Delay of Engine Replacement Due to Early PM Filter Installment:
Brief Description of Factsheet:
In order to take advantage of the Small Fleet Provision, you must own a fleet consisting of no more than 3 total trucks. Fleet size considers all vehicles with a GVWR of >14,000 lbs., but only heavier trucks can take advantage of the Small Fleet Provision. You must report your fleet information to our online Truck and Bus Reporting System by the reporting deadline. The deadline to report for 1996-1999 model year engines was January 31, 2012.
Here are the requirements for fleet owners taking advantage of the Small Fleet Provision:
- Level 3 PM filter schedule
- First Vehicle: PM by January 1, 2014
- Second Vehicle- PM by January 1, 2015
- Third Vehicle- PM by January 1, 2016
- Engine replacement starting 2020
