When a company says they pay a certain rate for 2500 miles a week is that consider total miles or one way? Also seen on a company website where they pay less for empty coming back, explain this to me guys before i screw myself.

I wouldn't work for a company that pays one rate for loaded and a lessor rate for empty.

Your original question leaves questions that would need to be answered first. For example, are they talking about a minimum? That would be if you only run 2000 miles that week do they pay you for 2500?

If you run 2000 miles one way would you get paid for that oneway there and paid coming back or is it 2000 miles round trip pay(1000 there 1000 back)

Are you talking a dedicated gig?

Most companies pay all miles the same rate so how ever many miles the run is plus the dead head to pick up is all the same rate

In trucking as a company driver you will get paid at the end of the week for total miles that the company says you could do the trips in.. If they send you from Dallas to LA and you go through denver you aint getting paid for your extra miles... If they route you to denver from dallas to LA you should get paid for it. One way miles is a term us o.0 use it has very little if anything to do with a company driver.. In other words your first question is pointless if you run 2000 it is 2000 miles total.. 2500 same thing 3000 ditto.. 3500 ditto.

If I ever went back to a company ... Which I might just to get away from the headache... I would walk out of the office if they told me loaded paided 45 and empty paid 30.. I am doing they same thing either way... O/o companies have started doing this, in fact one called me had a sweet deal or so it sounded until they started talking 1.00 plus fsc of .50 that sounds great when they were buying plates and crap.. until they started with fsc didn't go on empty miles and the empty rate was .88 and they came back empty from most places or deadheaded you 500 to 600 miles a load.. So I walked out

I did some math calculations on this...92cents per mile is leased on to a carrier averging 2200 miles aweek = $2024 total gross net. 25% of that goes to driver which leaves me with $1518. I figured between $800-1000 in fuel depending on how he drives it leaves with me $800 bucks in my pocket....i can't live off that and that isn't including maintnance!
