That's fine, one less temptation to take these long runs to CA anyways lol.

Plus, last time I checked it is September 2012. The deadline for registering was January 2012.

On the CARB site it states you have till Jan 31st of the year that your model engine year is prohibited. So since I have a 2003 engine, as of Jan 1st I can not go into California, unless I file for the extension then it's good till 2014.

    Ukumfe Thanks this.

    Here are some answers...

-Ontario - no luck. Cannot get in and no OSW permits available. Rules may change end of 2012.
-Newfoundland - no luck. Same as Ontario.

-Quebec, Manito,Albert,Saska,BC = Permitted with an OSW permit.
-New Bruns/Nova Sco = Permitted "as is" in my specific case.

    Quebec OSW $166
Manitoba OSW $147 (for all 3 sections if needed)
    Alberta OSW $15
    Saskatch OSW $0 (free)
    BC OSW $30

    ...these are yearly permits.

If anyone is curious about charges...

-Novapermits wants to charge $785 to process the paperwork for Quebec.
(This does not include the OSW permit I need ($166).

-730permits was even more expensive and into the $800 range.

-The attorney I have consulted with was around $717 for this process

Each province I need an OSW permit for has their own fee and then the permit companies charge you $30 per OSW that they apply for, on top of the Province fee.
$150 to the permit companies just to obtain what I can do my own.

It all might be interesting if you got a steady job going into Canada. For an occasional load, well, do you think it's worth the hassle..??

This is hard to say. Some of the permits are either free or cheap enough.
BC and Manitoba have the most spendy yearly permits but do offer a on-trip or monthly permit too.

BC takes some time to setup. I have the rest done...

Thats on purpose, the ontario based carriers want to keep all the work for themselves!

    Well...an update.
I am STILL trying to determine legal for Ontario.
My rig is under 2005 model year, so a 6.6m wheel base is fine.
But the trailer has a spread axle and they have a slight issue with that. Geesh.

I have been in touch with the scale house in Windsor ON and he states that the regulations conflict each other,
so he was escalating to the Ministry of Transportation in ON for a specific guidence.

I am waiting on BC to receive my ICBC insurance filing before proceeding with that. But I have been told
I will have a serious issue with my spread in BC, so I need to determine this prior to paying THEIR fee to run into there.
