    i have a 98 vnl, turning the wheel left or right is hard, has clean fuild, it gets easier if you rev the motor, what could it be ? pump or box ?

    yes i have, i also notices today that when i turn the wheel it makes a hissing noise

    measure the max PS pressure. Apply gauge and brick between frame rail and tire and turn steering wheel to get maximum pressure. I sugest PS punp to be bad. If PS pump is ok steering box must be rebuild

    Mine was simple as replacing the u joint both sides . The one conected to the gear box was making the problem the most . Good luck
