So a buddy of mine from trucking school, just told me he is going to orientation at the same company I am (McElroy) in Cuba, AL.
While I am looking forward to going through orientation with him. I got to thinking: Could this alone wind up hurting our chances of ultimately getting a job? Two students from the same area, which only has one trainer. Another one of my former classmates, is already on the road with said trainer. It should be known that McElroy, does not do team driving. Would a company take two drivers from the same area, place them into the same orientation class, knowing that they're only going to hire one of us?
To be fair, McElroy does have allot of freight lanes in my area. ThyssenKrupp steel, Lowes, plus an Airbus plant is being built in my city.
Just a little worried, is all.
Two students from same school...

It should have no effect whatsoever.

They are a fairly large company. I don't think they would waste the time and money in bringing you to orientation if they weren't going to use both of you. I also find this company having one trainer a bit of a myth.
If you are concerned maybe call the recruiter and try and get the low down of their operation. Personally I don't think you have anything to worry about. It sounds as if you are getting some false information or you maybe over thinking their hiring logistics. I can understand the nervousness of getting hired on for a new job in a new career and not knowing the ins and outs but like I said, I don't think you have anything to worry about. -
Don't know about Mc Elroy, but you might not neccesarily end up with Trainer from your area.

i went to swift orientation with 10 students from my school, there was no problem.
