no no i was talking about tatra commercial trucks they just recently introduce hub reduction axles, and even now they only come as an option , than there is no wet clutch , no cooling capacity , no additional air compressores , maybe tub frame is not strong enougth to cope with largest load , tatra is good for terrain but not so sure about heavy load

i was trying to search on web and it might be something called LIMP HOME or mode when vehicle is broken maybe i am wrong
-
"Limp mode" is on the backside of the "box"
L stands for crawler gear
Been both L AND C letters depending on years. You can't just use the internet when it comes to this stuff.
There should be 4 diffrent i-shift boxes you can order depending on usage and many different gear change programs. -
never heard
i know that there is options of long haulage , heavy haul , construction and distribution programs, but never heard for different gearbox setup
i was trying to find but nothing -
They still have a version of the Military T815 8x8 heavy hauler, but with 5th wheel design for transporting on/off road big an heavy tanks Abrams class at 80+ tones. On road only I'm sure that the truck is capable to handle even heavier loads.
Don't know much about the civilian commercial side of Tatra.
PS: The Tatra patented central "backbone" tube drive train design it's the most powerful and highly mobile drivetrain design for an on/off road truck to this day!
That design creates the strongest frame structure for a on/off road aplication, and can easily be expanded and/or developed for the largest veriety of applications.
Tatra is ingenious stuff, it's just that they're not a recognizable "western" brand!Last edited: Sep 19, 2012
Scania man Thanks this. -
This is the reason I love the 9LL roadranger for off road. 26:1 low low ratio with a 4.88 final drive gives me 3km/h at 2000rpmScania man Thanks this. -
Hey Mr. Down under trucker, I hope that you weren't offended by my harsh language addresed towards the EPA and environmental BS!
My criticism wasn't at all directed towards any of you on this thread!
I only was trying to get all y'all thinking seriously about this and maybe get enough of us to opose this darn stupid regs and maybe if there's enough of us, maybe we could change the direction of this things.
I don't know!
Just thinking "out lowd"!
LOLScania man Thanks this. -
Not at all mate, don't worry alot of us feel the same way, in the industry that my truck work in we have to deal with those idiots all day
Westbound Thanks this. -
Volvo can offer for heavy haulage RT3210h planetary reduction tandem drive with maximum ratio of 7:21,i guees you dont need a crawler gear with this setup
-
I know but still there is no exceuse for such.small overall ratio.such.as 14.94 This slow dif make truck useless for lighter loads and when empty you need another truck for transport of this very slow truck Also remember that volvo used to offer vt2514 overdrive with crawler from direct and that make 16.41 to 0.8
