Great part about flatbedding is drive and unload during the day and sleep at night.

I have a pair of basketball shorts and a tshirt that I wear when it rains. Doesn't get "soaked" as much and doesn't weigh me down and limit my movement. Drys out fast too once you change out of it.

It's not about the extra work involved, I simply want to explore another aspect of this profession. Besides, I could stand to lose a few pounds anyways.

    MJ1657 Thanks this.

Speak for yourself, you would swear that was a reefer behind my truck sometimes as much night running as I end up doing.

Rarely a weekend delivery; pick up Friday, deliver Monday. Night deliveries are also rare, except for the Big Box home improvement stores: Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, etc.

I dragged a box for about a month when I was in training (they did me half box, half flat [#### Big Blue Screw]) and I'll never go back.

Rain sucks in the summer since you get soaked without rain gear but still get soaked from sweat if you wear it. I just go without, once you're soaked you really don't notice.

More than rain or snow, wind is the biggest environmental factor. High winds make throwing straps over 13' loads a chore and turn your tarping job into a para-sailing adventure. It's real fun trying to get down off of 14' of vinyl window moulding before your tarps get blown off the load.

If you're afraid of heights or climbing, I'd stick to dragging a box.
