I'd rather deliver in the city then get a curtain......I pulled one on and off for a month before I left......come to think of it maybe that is why I quit LOL

I haven't checked in with you guys in awhile but thought I'd share. I'm on a back haul that is steel rolls (flatbed freight). Let me tell you, it took forever to secure this load. Almost 45 seconds to close and seal the doors!
Mic and skyviper73 Thank this. -
What you trying to say?

Delivered in Miami then went to west palm beach for a scrap paper load. Made it to Richmond hill Ta for the night. Hopefully football on the boob tube but law and order or csi or even ncis trumps a grid iron game. Got my fingers crossed not fan really of nfl but been staying at cons and rest areas lately need some tv.

Psh! I dislike sitting in drivers lounges. Always some rude aśshôle on the phone or talking to other drivers.
-
Same here but if football is on then ok I can stand it for a while it's quiet as a mouse with at least 10 drivers so far. Bs crime scene show hopefully goes off by 8

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Delivered in Springfield, TN yesterday morning. Went down to Nashville to pick up. Nice and easy drop and hook. Made it to the Petro in Glade Spring, VA last night. Tonight I'm at the TA in Maybrook, NY. Drop and hook tomorrow whenever I feel like getting there in Auburn, ME.

So I get the curtain side trailer and head to the shipper. I couldn't exchange flatbed equipment because they removed the exchange shed from that yard. So I left 13 straps, 2 lumber tarps, and all my bungees on the trailer.
I get to the customer with 9 straps in my box and guess what? I need at least 20 straps to secure this load they way I secure eye to the sky coils.
So shipper cancels the load. I call dispatch and they have me go to a loves truck stop to get straps. Get to the loves and they don't have any straps I need.
So my dispatcher tells me to go to the TA 40 miles away. So I call them before I go because I only had an hour left on my 14. They have 11 straps. So I haul butt to the TA and actually find a decent parking spot.
I go inside and buy the 11 straps at a total of $411.83. Their not even the good straps, their a crappy off brand but I can't be picky as I need them bad.
Guy at the service desk gave me a free shower voucher for buying all that junk too lol. Night dispatch didn't know what they were doing so when I had the money loaded on my card (I ain't forking out $400 for their equipment) I didn't get a PO number sent to me, so I gotta call tomorrow and get one.
Anyway, I'm here and I gotta head back to the shipper in the morning.
Dude I would have rather taken that load to new York and delivered the first stop then sat all weekend and delivered the last stop on Monday rather than take a curtain side.
I hear ya bro lol. I had to bump a dock today to get loaded, weird when you haven't done it in awhile.
