Sorry to break it to ya .... lol .... but the first 3 days will be really uneventful with mostly class room and paperwork. Wednesday afternoon you will most likely get to start bob tailing around. Hang in there, believe me when I say the next 3 weeks will fly by for ya anyway, enjoy the ride

Oh, I am enjoying it, eyes crossed and all! xD
Got back from lunch and did, you guessed it, more paperwork! We watched a few videos, did more paperwork, and of course read through some materiel. After taking a couple of quizzes, we called it a day.
But overall, its been pretty enjoyable. We got to meet some of the current drivers and pick their brains a little.
For now, its time for a little homework and some R&R.
Till tomorrow! -
Tell Greg Hegemeister says hello. Hope his eye is feeling better.

He had cataract surgery. When he comes back he shouldn't even need glasses anymore!

End of day two, and still no Greg. But David is keeping us plenty busy. We went over more slideshows and videos, mostly covering the trucks' controls and some pretrip. Also did a bit of trip planning. For the upcoming students, don't let the email you will receive after registering for your class fool you. Atlases are not available for purchase at the GA school, although there are a few truck stops across the street that do sell them.
We did get a tour of some of the trucks, which was pretty nice. Sitting behind the wheel, even for only a few minutes, really keeps your excited through all of the bookwork.
We all are learning a lot. It has sort of become habit for everyone, not just the smokers, to wind up outside one way or the other during breaks, discussing the material and bombarding David with any questions that we all come up with once break is over.
We still hold out hope that we will be in the trucks by Thursday. David confessed that, since we have a class of 12, he is putting off the range work until Greg can join us.
For now, its time for more homework, and maybe some adventuring through cartersville. -
no need to adventure c'ville.. The holiday inn has a full bar downstairs with $1 beer before 7.

Thanks for the information

yeah get that drinking out of your system now cause once you get in a truck you dont want anyone to see you with a beer.

I second that. And when you get to albany be careful going to the bar next door when your stuck down there because 1 time I was stuck down there and I was waiting on my buddy to get to the terminal coming from walmart DC and I fell asleep. He got there and went to the bar without me and I woke up the next morning with a message for me to call before I leave out with my beer load. So I called and was told to go take a random drug/alcohol screen. LOL I was like #### im glad I fell asleep last night. So be careful. I went 1 more time after that a couple months later. Its a fun little place.
And a guy in the shop told me some drivers will report you if they see you go over there. -
Yall just got out of orientation right? Have you hooked up with your trainer yet?
