    Tankinee,

That way of thinking is the only way to go.

A shame it doesn't apply to alot of these trucking compaies.

Is the 85% failure rate all the blame of the new drivers ??

Be sure to keep us posted,

most likely in 3-6 months you may also be gone.

But I wish you Luck anyways......

    123456 -

I will absolutly keep you posted, both good and bad. Should I decide to end my driving career, I will be sure to let it be known the reasons why. I can only hope that I gain the 33 years of experiance that you have. Much respect to you. I personally do not believe in heading into a new job with the expectation of being screwed. After 27 years in the Military, I am quite use to the type of BS that life throws at you. Yes, there is a 85% failure rate, yes trucking is not an easy life. Perhaps the failure rate is due to those entering the business with the attitude your suggesting. I don't know, what I do know is if you go into anything in life with the attitude you will fail, or your going to get screwed. You already are screwed.

You the driver create the experiance you have.

I am a firm believer in this. WHY STRESS OR GET UPSET BY THAT WHICH YOU CANNOT CONTROL. I expect BS to be thrown at me, but I DO NOT let it change the way I react. Smile, nod, get the job done, and continue on my way. Fact is, no one is personally out to Screw you, situations may rise up that make one feel that way. It boils down to the all encoumpassing dollar. I am betting that if you take those runs that no one wants, you do those jobs that suck, you become that driver that can be relied upon to get the job done, you treat those you come in contact with respectfully, and you deal with those BS moments calmly. You will find that you will be enjoying your job regardless of the situation.

I would respectfully ask you this 123456 - Instead of telling us "Newbies" our odds of failing, why not tell us how you managed to make it 33 years. What attitude did you keep during the BS? What did you do to get through those times? Your experiances? With that many years doing what most fail at, how did you succeed?

    Simply my opinion:

Top Reasons why the failure rate is so high

#1 - Realized being a Driver was not for them

#2 - Spouse or significant other

    #3 - Accident

    #4 - Bad company

    Food for thought:

If a company is so bad..... how are they still in business?

If they are bad, how do they have so many trucks on the road?

Why do YOU as thier drivers stay working for them?

If a company is so bad, you would think that EVERY driver would up and leave them.

Especially these Driver Mills that hire Newbies... must not be so bad if they are the largest profit making companies that offer decent benefit packages. I must admit, that looking through the Forums.. it is an individual event that causes a posting against a company, and not a trend. Mind you though, yes there are companies out there that will treat you bad, take advantage of you, and give little or no respect. Of course, that holds true with ANYWHERE work is offered, no matter the job. Once more I stand by my statement.

You as the individual create the experiance. Good or bad.

    OK,

    You are going with Schneider,

I have Never had a bad thing to say about them. They will offer people a career, with many different options,

    instead of just a job.

Again, it goes back to making a good sound choice when you are just getting started.

Which many people on here fail to do.

The highest starting pay per mile should not be a determining factor !!

Thank You for your service to our country.
