why do you have to run for 2.75/mile to make money ? Frankly, I only average 2.38 loaded on about 1900 miles/week and am doing okay. The only people i know making 2.75 / mile or better are guys who have lot's of contacts from long time in the biz or bullhaulers or RGN's and that's on even shorter miles for the most part. why is your cost so high ?
I need a little inside help!!

Im not going to tell you how to control your life .... But if you need $2.75 to be profitable ... Good luck ... Search the threads about Mercer, and Landstar listen to those guys and make the right decision

if you NEED $2.75 a mile to be PROFITABLE something is wrong

i agree
, may be other factors -
We were 4 years with Flatbed running off load boards... we stood are ground and won't pull for less than 2.00 and we would like to get closer to this 2.75 that Real deal just mentioned. SO, guess what? we quit trucking! Our government is paying people to go to get their CDL's , the market is saturated with newbies who work for nothing, just the way shippers, receivers, brokers want it. They win. No one cares about safety, punctuality,or dignity any more. Just want CHEAP.

How many miles a week are you running... and what kind of fuel mileage are you getting.. Here is my suggestion.. Set a floor of like 2.20 a mile.. of course take higher paying loads but don't sit 5 days waiting on that magical 3.00 per mile load while passing on that 2.50 load.. in other words either make it work or sell what you have and go drive a company truck because honestly if you have to make 2.75 per mile running your own deal you will never make it at what the companies are paying o/0ps now.. I average 1.5 cpm and do about 2200 a week and about 40 stops.. and work 60 plus hours..
