Packing List for Students

Thanks good idea do I need to bring sheets for my truck or is IR already in it

 

Gotta question... How do you get those things "sucked down"? Dont you need a vacuum cleaner to do that? Are you planning on taking a vacuum cleaner with you?

 

i have a small one u buy in truck stop i vacum my truck every other day and when you get your truck, the matteress is bare bring your own and ask for a new mattress when you do get a truck, ya never know about other drivers and there lot lizard nights

Next time you're in Walmart grab an air mattress pump people use for camping. They have blow and suck. Mine is Coleman and cost $9

My trainer supplied sheets and a pillow.

Again let me know if there's anything important I forgot. I'm not bring covers/sleeping bag along because it takes up too much room, aanndd I never sleep with them anyway. Will I need the steel toe boots? On average, if the training should take a month, how much money will I be safe with in my account?

I haven't had a chance to read all the way through this thread, but I wanted to put this on here while I was thinking about it...

Here's a tip I figured out, pack white board (or dry erase) markers when you get out on your own. Get a laminated atlas. When you are figuring your route, draw the line on the laminated map with the dry erase marker. Then, on the top left of your windshield, write the highways AND direction you want to go on those highways...as you exit a highway, just use your finger and wipe it off the windshield. Keeps you from looking down at a notepad, Qualcomm, text message, or whatever other way you have your route noted. When you stop for the night, just erase the line to where you are.

People always thought I was crazy with that idea, until they tried it...everybody so far has loved the idea...you can keep your eyes "on the road", and still see your route.

I also did the same with my directions to shippers/receivers...your eyes are still forward (maybe not on the road, per se, but at least you aren't looking down at the steering wheel or whatever). Just my crazy little idea that has kept me from getting lost...
