DA BEARS im a huge one........but back to the topic it all depends what your company lets you have in the truck my life in the truck i have a flat screen mounted playstation microwave stove grill laptop inverter coffee machine. 4.3 cu ft refrigerator and freezer so life for me is good. I reccomend getting a 4inc foam topper from mattress aw feels great to sleep on

I kept my sons old twin mattress so that's what's going in right a way. Ordered a blue parrot blue tooth a basic cobra CB and a mic re-tractor thingy. I already have chargers for all my stuff like phones and Ipad. I'll put my cooler in there so I can carry food and save money and I have a french press I use while hiking I'll take a long to make coffee. -
nice. To me its all about driver comfort

I found a thread on supplies. Still, any Schneider OTR drivers care to discuss pay?

Around six months you should get a 4 cent raise to 33 cents per mile.
You get $15 for every 2 hours of detention time at a customer. $65 for a 24 hour layover. $65 for a day of breakdown pay. The company will reimburse all hotel stays that are required because of problems with your tractor.
You will also get paid extra for each additional stop after the first one on multi stop loads. As well as getting paid extra for each additional place after the second stop while searching for an empty trailer.
There is additional pay rates for driver unloading(Almsot never happens OTR). The company will pay for lumpers with a Commcheck so you don't need to.
For loads under 25 miles you get paid for the miles at your normal mileage rate as well as an addition $25. Load from 26-50 miles pay an additional $1 per mile on top of your Mileage rate. Loads from 51-100 miles pay an addition $0.50 per mile. Loads from 101-200 miles paid an additional $0.10 per mile. Finally, loads from 201-300 pay an additional $0.02 per mile.
For days you are pulled off the road into an Office for training or reviews you get paid in half and full day increments. I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head though and I left the book in my truck.
You will also get a quarterly bonus for being under the Idle % they want, keeping it at 60mph and under 70 mph. And not having any driver related service failures or log violations.
All of this is from my own personal experience of how I've been paid over the past 10 months. The starting rates or anything else may have changed along the way. -
I have driven for Schneider almost 2 years...very little of what was written previously has actually happened...I'm sleeping in my truck AT FREIGHTLINER not a motel and no $65.00 is coming my way AND I am not making any money, not the worst company but what was written above sounds like a recruiter wrote it....just sharing MY experience with Schneider, next year I am coming into some money and buying my own truck and lease with Schneider Choice program.....possibly or Landstar or...???
Dont believe everything you read here.....theirs usually TWO sides to every story. -
One thing they don't really pay unless you really complain is layover if you're without a load. That you almost always have to complain about. But whenever I've broke down I've gotten breakdown pay without even asking. Getting a hotel is something you need to speak with your DBL about. Perhaps yours is a #######? There are a lot of those at Schneider like any company really. -
I've never had a problem getting break down pay, or detention, or reimbursed for a hotel..... I've been driving for a year now. Everything that razororange has stated is spot on...
