Simple question......3000 TO 3400 WEEKLY / $15,000 GROSS MONTHLY = $ 180,000. Under normal conditions what would be an approximate net. Please don't get into things like unexpected repairs and such. None of these expenses can be predicted. I'm just looking to get some no-nonsense answers. If you were to have made this money last year, giving all the money spent on EVERYTHING, what would you net.

    Thanks

fuel, about 60-70 cpm depending on the mileage, I take out 14 cpm for maintenance and that's also low at times.

Figure about $6000 per month in fixed expenses that are not based on mileage.

Just one spread sheet I did a few months ago.

Thanks so much MNdriver. Exactly what I was looking for. If my numbers are right, the net pay $ 1792.00 less child support.

If you are from Minnesota love Ely Minn. Have a friend that built a Log cabin overlooking a lake and Canada on the other side. Beautiful.

That's if you don't have any profit.

I pay myself $3000 per month. This is just a spreadsheet that is up on TTR and easy for me to reference. It's been tweeked since this one.

I choose to have a paycheck and I don't even consider my "profit" income. And like you said, there are as many different ways to do this as there are O/O's.

I also don't charge "CPM". I have a flat daily over head I charge and add in my mileage.

Easier to just let you read it how I wrote it a while back.

fuel cost you can figure your self.. divide cost by mpg... it will give you your cost per mile.. say fuel is 4.04 your truck get 5.9 that is .68 cpm -1.25= 66.75 cpm before anything else. 2002per week.. That isn't really good money. When you will have truck payment... say 300 per week... that is now 1702.. insurance say 80 per week... now you are at 1602.. then workmans comp say 40 now at 1560.. Then road eats 150.. 1410.. then child support even if it is 1000 a month.. 250... now at 1160.. that is before taxes and any fees you pay on the road like tolls lumpers tires washes...l Best of luck but that is an o/0

I'm researching as much as I can. I was just looking at some load boards. GetLoaded in particular. They have an option were you can try to see how it works.
So, I put in Miami to Phoenix. Showed one load from Orlando to Goodyear, AZ. 2161 miles an it pays $2650. I did some calculation in a spreadsheet.
I set the fuel at $4 and MPG at 6 which means the fuel cost is $ .67 per driven mile.

    Load pays $2,650
    Fuel Cost $1,440
    ======== $1,210

Now I would have to subtract all the other expenses from $1210. This is a Reefer Load also. Considering it will take 4 days of driving this does not sound like there is that much profit. $1210 divide by 4 days driving is $302 per day. So, if one wants to make net $200 per day, all the other expenses would have to total $102. And I can't see that possible. Especially when you consider food cost for 4 days. Unless I'm missing something.

I recently did this coming back from Salt Lake back east. It paid very nicely and I was able to do some weird things with the truck that otherwise would have never been possible.

Nice way but you MUST be flexible to do this.
