I've noticed something in this thread that I have noticed with many others..
A company that was once raved about as being good and caring hits rock bottom. If they were so good then why are they failing? I don't want to hear the common pathetic excuse of "well the old man died and the kids ran it down" . Im sure that's the case on some occasions but it stems from years of bad decisions.
Proof? Companies that you've been swearing up and down for years that suck and will close any day now continue to thrive. Every thread on here that regards a company that was thought to be "good ol company", "a company that cares" is followed by "out if business " and nostalgic thoughts of "good ol days". Time to move on people. This proves a point I've made on here several times. A company you think sucks is the perfect fit for someone else and vica versa.

Also the financial demise of a company has very little to do with who likes or dislikes it.

anj8488 you're still wet behind the ears at 5 years on the road. A companies financial situation has little to do with how they treat their drivers or how good they are to work for. Some of the worst companies to drive for are finacialy stable. And yes a lot of good companies have been run in the ground by the founders kids who only see the dollars in the here and now not the quality service and hard work that built the company and it's reputation. If you weren't around during the good ole days how would you know if they were or not. It's not always nostalgia some things do change for the worse. Yes not every company is a fit for every driver. Some great companies really have went sour for any number of reasons. Some bad companies have got better. I'm not cutting you down by saying your wet behind the ears I'm just saying you've learned at 5 years enough to think you know everything. I was the same way at 5 years experience too. Now at almost 26 years experience I know I don't know everything and I learn something new nearly everyday.

Prime bought O&S.. Nuff said

You know a company is terrible when they are pulling a Crime trailer at the same speed.

I rode by the yard the other day on the city bus and the shop s now Freightliner North and the yard looks like a used truck lot.
I also had a Face Book friend need a truck for a donation run and sent her O&Ss number. They don't "do that" any more but only brokering and none outside of their fleet which does do Prime work.
As I said a year ago, sad a really great company allowed fools to come in and sell the lease plan to Jim.
But as I was told, "company drivers cost to much!" -
That's funny.....
Because too many on here are tauting the "end of the owner / operator."Last edited: Sep 24, 2012

Never hear that from me except it's true as the gooberment, CRASH and all those Joan Claybrook holdouts want them to go away so that only automatons drive while plugged into that computer system!
