Meltom Thanks this. -
Haha no! I posted something I knew that could be taken different. So I removed my post, and asked for others to remove theirs. Which they did.
But you... Don't try being a fakebedder. Doesn't work that way! -
I'm guessing that's what it was and yet curious what was wrote lol. Makes thing interesting while bored at the t/s. I got called a grammar nazi by the truckers report staff and they removed my comment on a different thread not relating to Roehl at all. I thought it was informative. Guess not.

I've heard of them putting palletized coils in those box/van contraptions. Sounds good until you take a corner too fast and they move on you. Steel plates with 2X4 and nails??? Maybe a little better, but I wouldn't want to drive it. Either way, steel is nothing to play with. Kinda like paper rolls in a van. Looks easy until you brake hard, a strap breaks, or the 2X4 wasn't truly nailed to the floor. BAD things happen....
As for me, after sending a msg to the weekend crew saying I needed to relay that 400 mile weekend run in Gary I got to run to Georgetown, KY. MT at 7 AM this morning and get a preload in Ghent. Get there get loaded and look at times.... 3 stops, 800+ miles and needs to be there by 1630 TOMORROW. Uhm...
Right now I have 9 hours left on my 70 to run tomorrow, and I am about 6 hours away from stop one. All 3 stops are in or near Minneapolis. Figure one hour per stop, 45 mins travel between stops..... I might make it.... Wednesday morning!
Well let's see what kind of creative logging I can do tomorrow.
LOL, and I just figured it out on google maps... I still have 400 miles to drive tomorrow to all of the stops. 7+ hours of driving, not to mention untarp, retarp, and any waiting.... CRAZY!

Ive hauled coiled steele in a reefer trailer before......I knew better than to use load locks...they ain't stopping that from moving...although anti skid mats were used profusely....and I did have 1 coil slide off of a broken pallet and into my reefer wall...no biggie..I documented it and dropped the trailer off for repair.....
yall knowing I worked for roehl know that I have toted those big ### paper rolls around....all I can say is...the van strap is pointless...but looks good...all one of those rolls has to do is tip and bam your van trailer starts to look like that beer can you crushed while on home time....LOL... -
I'll stick with securing my coil. Atleast I'm more comfortable driving down the road knowing it's being held down with chains + straps and not some bubble gum the dock worker spit on the floor of the trailer.

Where is the sense of adventure here. You gotta have some loads that are touchy and delicate to handle. So far so good no big bangs in the back so far. Yeah load locks ha ha ha ha lol i put thoose in and some straps. I cant hammer a nail to save my life either company name is Monogram metals. Cool place had all sorts of metal rolls there. Two weeks ago i had to pick up at penzoil and had a van full of 50 gallon drums now i know they where in barrels but i swear it rocked and rolled a bit.
