LOL. Yep, you'll need that A.C. unit when you're in Fargo, ND this winter and its -40 degrees! I wonder if all the newbies who haven't driven a big rig pulling a 53' trailer are starting to get knots in their stomachs yet regarding the onset of winter?![]()

I couldn't figure out why they wanted me to put chains on when you could see asphalt / concrete. so the first real snow i came a crossed i was marking my laundry. also check to make sure they are on correctly. I put 6 chains on, only took 2 chains off, how they didn't wrap around the axles. i will never know ( green horn)

Government money or not .. our fleet is still 900 trucks just like last year.
-
yet another breakdown. looks like i will be moving on. if there are 900 trucks they all must have a driver because they have none to get me out of this one.they have trucks for there buddies tho. never late thru my fault, never turned down a run .my trainer dropped 2 trailers he is on his 2nd truck in 9 months ok rant over
-
guess what? ANY truck at ANY company can have issues. Getting you out of that truck isn't going to fix that truck, it will become another driver's problem.
I know drivers that were in/out of the dealer 6-10x within the 1st 20-50k miles on their NEW trucks.
I was fortunate enough to have aver 200k with May and only one actual breakdown that 'sidelined' me, and that was one of those POS Fontaine 'lightweight' 5th wheels that BROKE while pulling a 45k trailer! And that was fixed by noon the following day. I also had a clutch fall apart at only 268k on the truck (warranteed, and happened as I was on my way home, so it was int he shop while I was at home)Joker85 Thanks this. -
Your trainer dropped 2 trailers and he's still training? Yikes, man.
I feel your pain. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.Last edited: Sep 25, 2012

Agreed. I wasnt looking for a new truck. I needed one to get down the road.missing 7 days out of 10 and no one willing to help me out is just wrong.example. joker85 leaves may, returns. Is given an international, 700 miles later he is in a new pete???? That my friends Is horse shiite

Contrary to how most disgruntled drivers make it out, there is no real 'buddy system' there. Nobody stays long enough to make any friends lol. It's just that they are desperate to get/keep any experienced drivers, especially those willing to train. Most anyone who comes on now with experience and/or willingness to train gets a NEW truck. That being said, one of my friends still there has a former student, who is now a trainer after only 6 months, and 3 accidents/incidents! WTF is going over there?

That was also part of my deal coming back was me getting a new truck. If they were not going to give me one i wouldnt of came back. And like wheelholder said Im a trainer so they re not gonna put me in an old truck. I dont kiss #### and i dont suck up. Im just a hard runner not saying you re not but i told them what i wanted and i got one. Tell your dm that you need a different truck or you re leaving if that doesnt work put in your 2 week notice. or talk to your OCM believe me you ll get another truck. Did you ask to get put on a list for a new truck. Plus i dont know how long you have been there for but i have over 2 years with may so that helps out a lot. I didnt get my first new truck til 9 months after being there. And yes it is sad they re letting people train with 6 months but if you want a new truck that bad tell them you want to be a trainer get a new truck train one student and stop theres your new truck
Rogerthat Thanks this. -
disgruntled?. i m in az waitting to drop at 22:00 then my 2 nd stp is at 0300 that some chuckle head couldnt make. again i will use Joker85 ( a trainer )as an example." drove over 14k last month " . that is alot of " wheelholding" for a student driver. you dont think that there is a buddie system in place.PLEASE. again i wasnt looking for a NEW truck just one so i could work.. i shouldnt have to suck up and will not to do my job. do you know the difference between an ### kisser and a brown noser? its depth preseption. some words spelled incorrectly on purpose so Scooter will have something to do in his off time
ps. Joker never said you were an arse kisser.you have experiance you could have gone anywhere but you came back here because you new that you could get what you wanted
