and by the time i got home it was actually over 15K.

and also i always set my PTA 3 days before i deliver so im not waiting for a load. Look at it this way Theres a solo driver and a trainer and a student in the same are waiting for a load whos gonna get the load first. More than likely the trainer will get a load first because we have higher priority

im in bullhead city . then off to flagstaff. i was trained the right way i always send in eta/ pta. call to see if i can drop early so i can roll to the next job. i drive night or day. my truck was broken down yesterday and i still picked up this load at 22:00 and drove to my 1st stp for on time delivery.ive gotten job offers and took your advice on jb hunt didnt have a dcs job so i passed. i have no problem with you getting miles. my problem is that im sitting way to much and being told that there are NO trucks available. we still roll students thru the door. we still have a huge turn over. dont pee down my back and tell me its raining. if they have a trainer with 3 accidents and is still here and that is what it take to get some help my notice to follow

NogoJoe, You probably got enough time in to go to another OTR company, but it might not be any better there. I can't really rationalise half the way they do things at May. My buddy drove a 45 series truck for over a year, they finally gave him a newer truck. It's a Pete with the DEF on the right side. He asked why he got stuck with that tractor, while guys driving a couple of months got a nearly new Pete or Freightshaker, he was told that's what he gets. I put in my year and hopefully I'm going to something better. Doing my drug test friday. I wanted to quit constantly during my time at May. I complained constantly (to my Wife), but I managed to last a year. Try to tough it out and doors will open. Longer the driving experience, the lower the insurance rate that companys have to pay on you. Of course sitting at the repair shops and not making any money, it's kinda hard to stay positive about hanging that 1st year. Seeing as, time crawls by slower then molasses in winter when you're sittin. GOOD LUCK.

Each truck in May's fleet is assigned to a particular terminal. In other words, as a rule of thumb, if a truck has been assigned to the Denver fleet, they are not going to seat a driver from Brooks in that truck and vice versa. So, if a new driver is dispatched out of Layton and there is a newer (or older) truck available, that's what he's going to get.
Let me also add, a newer truck does not always assure a reliable one. May has had enormous warranty issues with many of those Peterbilts. I know several drivers who were assigned trucks with less than 100k miles and have broken down several times already. One of my friends sat for two weeks in Gary, IN with electrical problems on a 2012 587. I cant imagine how unbelievably boring and frustrating it would be to be couped up in a cheap motel for that long only being compensated $50 a day breakdown pay. -
C'mon Scooter, cheap motel in Gary Indiana, 50 dollars a day = FAT CITY.
