New drive tire time...

I put 8 Michelin XDA Energys on in May and have seen a consistent + .5 mpg avg based on IFTA, I track manually also.. The ride seems about the same as the goodyears that were on there, its hard to notice any small difference i would think. I paid 3450$ thru Weiner, one nice little benny i guess....

 

Bridgestone M726 EL. Run them on all my trucks, we get 300K out of them, good midwest winter traction and no noise in the summer

Michelin XDN2, the last set of them I had I got 432,000 miles out of them. They are expensive to buy up front, but on a cost per mile they are as cheap or cheaper than anything else I have ever tried.

 

M726 EL's are great for tire life, but are probably the absolutely worst tire for fuel mileage out there.

Try XDA3's or M720's.

 

Before i have yokohama 587 and bridgestone 280 on my steer,was ok ,only after i was going to michelin xzv 3 @,the michelin is for me the best steertire better ,more miles,now 90k and looks like new

 

Yoko 577 on drives, looks like I'll be lucky to get 300K miles out of them. They look just like the M726's that came on my truck which had irregular lug wear from, I'm assuming torque. I'll never buy anymore of those but they were on the truck like that when I got it. Michilen will be my next set of drives for above mentioned - lowest cost per mile.

 

I'm still liking my Goodyear G572's. They are going to last a long time starting with 30/32 of tread depth. Pricey, but so is everything else with low rolling resistance and deep tread.

 

Depending on what type of trailer you pull, miles / weight you run and the terrains you run - might help you make your choice.

I pull flat, usually under 3k miles per wk, various weight / dims and gravel/dirt (job sites) - I run General S371 (16 ply) - closed rib / low rolling resistant / anti chunk, etc...
