Is he still with Superior? It's been years since I ran into him.

No, he's not. I would like to believe he is enjoying his retirement somewhere out there wherever he may be... :)

Thanks Mile Marker! Yes, I am definitely happy again job-wise, and that is an understatement.

Concerning Raven, I know that there are a lot of happy van drivers there lol. A few years ago one of my son's teachers husband drove there and to my understanding still does. Word has it that they actually have a waiting list for accepting and reviewing applications. From what I remember they pay in the .40+/mile range, do the per diem thing (unless things changed), have paid holidays, a decent vacation schedule and health insurance, have what looks to be well-maintained equipment with APUs, run pretty much east of I-35, and I think a minimum of 2 weeks out, 2 full days in.

Hey thanks for the info, Not much info on them on here. A buddy of mine might be making a change and has a change to sign on, so just trying to get some info on them, so thanks again.

Yes Iv'e heard the same thing about the waiting list and know their turn over rate is low and from the couple guys I have talk to that work there all had postive feedback and both had 5 plus years with them. So I think he's going to take the postion, I think the 1 thing he's worried about is living in Ohio is it a good freight lane for them coming off hometime and getting home. Well Thanks again

Hope this finds everyone doing well tonight. I've been having loads of fun (no pun intended lol) these last few days between running out west and back, and more so, reading some of the crazy stuff throughout the forum here and getting many good laughs. Namely, a thread in the U.S. Xpress section concerning trainer pay and making $60k a year. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't read it, but a couple of the posting "trainers" have what, a combined 3½-4 years experience total between them, and that they train predominantly for the $$$ , especially once they can upgrade their trainee and run as a team. WTF?!?!?!? No wonder our industry keeps going downhill, because we have this bs going on. But, I guess that is how ya make the big bucks out here ROTFLMFAO :-D

Anyway, I'll update my official numbers asap but I can say this: Heniff is running me just fine and doing exactly as I was told, exactly as I expected, exactly as I desired. Once I return to Alsip the last couple of weeks will be in the neighborhood of $2650 gross (before detention, which I had quite a bit of) for approximately 5,220 hub miles, with about 1,500 of those empty. So as you can see, running on percentage and NOT being paid empty miles isn't necessarily evil.

Anyway, just doing my thing between running, slacking off, and working out. Took some time along the way to enjoy some sightseeing and local burger joints in Washington State, as well as (finally) stopping at Little Big Horn and visiting the battlefield. A note for anyone wanting to visit there: you CANNOT enter into the site in a CMV but you can park in the little turnout next to the Custer Gift Shop/Cafe, then walk about a ½ mile in. Admission is $5 and I strongly suggest you wear good hiking or walking shoes because the "two black Cadillacs" are how you're going to get around, and the battlefield isn't exactly small. Anyway, it's an awesome place to visit and well worth the price of admission.

Yesterday I spent roughly 9.5 hours in Wright, WY unloading at the largest surface coal mine in North America and the best part of it was that after finishing up, I was able to meet up with a friend I served with between '96-'99 who was born in and resides in the local area, as well as actually working at the mine! Good times let me tell ya.

But anyway, with that all said let me run, because I must get back to trying to figure out how I can make the big money training for a CDL-mill starting company... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Y'all be safe and have fun!
