Jus to add my contrary .02 on topics I missed while in Canada.
super singles are no less safe the duals-they get better mpg due to less friction, less friction means less grip. On snow they cause the truck/trl to wander between ruts from dual tires, and have a blow out w/ a heavy load in a rural area and your stranded, can't limp to safe pull off are....sounds safe to me.
Single drive trucks are fine when operated safely- very true when operated on no snow they are great, needing to chain up at loading docks/parking areas w/ 4" of snow on the ground... That's ridiculous. If they want drivers to only run safely then put in the book all trucks must stop when there is more then 3" of snow forecast, no freight will get delivered in the north east/north west/Canada and I'm sure no miles will help with current driver retention and our non-existent on time delivery from December to April will help us get more customers
MPG requirements are hard to hit- Ok I've got nothing on this I run the North East. I do a reset every weekend on the road, constantly am stuck in Toronto, Montreal, and NYC traffic and refuse to be uncomfortable sleeping. MY AVG IS 6.8MPG and I do run 65 all the time due to traffic, border crossings, etc eating up my dispatched time. If you can't hit 6.2 your doing something wrong or your truck has issues. Now, if they bump it up more the. 6.5 MPG as a requirement then they can stop buying KW and switch to a tractor w/ a Detroit Diesel motor known for its MPG's vs the cummins that in my opinion are worse then most large displacement Cat motors. In my experience I can run 65 w/ a Detroit 60/DD15 W/ twin screws and avg 8.1-8.3 MPG if the company cared so much we wouldn't be in Kenworths
Home time- check the driver connection before you make plans rules are rules and just like MPG this one is easy
this does not negate the fact your FM is an #######, just my POV on the stuff I missed

Yep, I have the industry figured out let me tell you about it. Obviously you think you do. That's the problem with this industry you got people such as yourself who think they know all and are always right. Whining? Where have I whined lol. As far as the "too tight" runs or "too much spare time". Why would someone want to take a 300 mile load and sit on it for a whole weekend. Makes a whole lot of sense if you ask me. The "too tight" one that is another I can see as well. Why would someone want to risk their safety of trying to haul ### and get that load there because dispatch failed to give it out any earlier.
I know about operating expenses lol. My grandpa was a owner operator as well as my Uncle. I grew up around trucks and talked a lot with them about it. -
you have internet access. Conway has a website where you can see everything about your current stats.

Number of Days Out
Number of Days Earned
Personal responsibility, I think you need to acquire a nice dose of it.mustang970 Thanks this. -
I know about that. I also have seen it to be very wrong. Just came off Hometime a week ago it says i have 19 days out. Obviously thats wrong.
-
Check it 3 days after you come out. Any days banked stay there and the number given is days out.
Home time available is (Days Out) / (7) = Hometime available -
If you come back from time off early, make sure your fleet manager knows. Sometimes the "system" doesn't correct days out.

10/4 drivers.

Well.....the week just started and my first reset is official.......AWESOME since I just came off of hometime Friday. I know I am still new, but this reset crap is killing me. 2 the other week, 1 the week before that, a 1000 mile reduction vs my average miles from a month ago.....I still have faith and I can't deny that Conway has taken care of me, but this is nuts. If I was only going to average this mileage I would have done it with Maverick. Hopefully this is just from hometime or a bad lane........

Fright is slow right now about 3 weeks it will pick up a lot.. they will make up for it. Talk to ur fm.

Yup we have had two in the last week ....did you get a raise ? Maybe that why the drop in miles...
