Thank you to all the folks that contribute to Truckers Report. Have been lurking on here for the last few months gathering info as my husband decided to enter the trucking world. We finally decided to take the plunge and he started his CDL training last week! I appreciate all the contributions of the many members here as it was extremely helpful in researching our decision. Looking forward to learning more as this new adventure progresses. We live in Denver, CO.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum..
If you two find any answers to this thing called "Trucking" let me know, huh?
Damselfly Thanks this. -
Thanks Bumpy. My husband got his CDL and has signed on with Schneider and heads to Fontana, CA for orientation on 10.2.12.
-
Well then Miss maybe get involved on a few threads on the forum that involve Schneider? Or maybe even start your own thread on how your Huz is doing? Just suggestions of course-as feedback from "new blood" just makes this forum more interesting.
Of course I wish for you both the Best Of Luck..
Hang in there.1st year always seems the hardest.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll try and see what I can stir up in here on the forums. You try and stay out of trouble out there!
-
If I did that it would of course upset the delicate balance of nature.
Compared to there being no snow in the Colorado Rockies. It always works out somehow..as you two will soon find out.Trick is ya just have to come back for more.

i have a friend that i went to high school with who drives for the big orange pumpkin. he has no problem keeping busy.

Hey dude:
Thats good to hear. Based on everything we've read on here they seemed like a good fit for someone starting out. He'll be driving Western 11 states based out of Salt Lake City to start. A few more days and then hes off to Fontana! -
Welcome!
Is he going over the road? It is a rough adjustment to being away from home for so long. But after a year or two of clean driving he can look for, and be an ideal candidate for, a local job with much more home time, and sometimes even more pay!
MikeeeeDamselfly Thanks this. -
Thanks PM. Well hes doing Western 11 which I understand is a Regional fleet. It still sounds like 2 weeks on / 2 days off, followed by 2 weeks on and 3 days off. Basically 5 days off a month. But I suspect that will be variable. It will definately take some getting used to.
