Agreed. Never touched the brakes and was obviously distracted or falling asleep. Either way as others said how'd he get a CDL in the first place if he needed an interpreter? Just got charged with 4 counts of motor vehilce homocide and 4 counts of vehiclular manslaughter seems to me like the idiots that gave him a CDL should all be fired and they should all be thrown in the state pen with him. But that's just my view on the matter.

I believe they have him on one count for the unborn baby also now.

I think CB's are great if they weren't misused like they are. We lived in Arkansas for several years and this was for a lot of people a main way of communication. Everyone had base stations, you could buy them from Sears then, a lot of people including us had them in our cars. But there was not all the bad mouthing and fighting going on then. When we moved back to the Gary, IN area though by about 1980 it was getting so bad with the constant bad language we had to turn ours off, it was not something you needed a 4 yr old to hear.

When hubby got his first one that was back when you still had to have a license to have one. The talk usually was short and to the point and not someone hogging the whole deal. Maybe if a lot of truckers would go back to this and quit all the nonsense, there would be more truckers using them.

This is becoming an everyday event. I used to be leased to a company that had a terminal just outside Chicago, the troopers use to congragate at the al lnight deli across the street. I asked them once about the Russian and ariab companies poping up all over the place. they told me as quick as they close them down they open right back up under there cousins, brother sons wife ect... name. doing buisness as usual. My son had one drive at his shop for 3 days due to break down, the guy hardley spoke english the company wouldnt even give the guy a hotel room or food money, turned out he was making 10cents a mile till his school and imagration bills where paid.

this happened about an hour away from me...and yes they are chargine him with the unborn also... i have to agree that it is awful funny that he needs somebody to interpret for him...i have no problem with immigration this country was founded on it!!! with having said that we have a very high population of hispanics in my town...now again nothing wrong with that not trying to start a war here or anything but its very frustrating when you go places or they come to mine and cant speak english...dont carry insurance on their cars etc etc and then we ge stuck as tax payers to foot the bill...where does it end???
this accident it horrible!! i tried to find the artical from the local news here it told about the family and such but they must have removed it...

Yep it sounds like he was driving nonstop from Milwaukee to where he hit the backed up traffic in Potter, 15 hrs.

Don't know how much time they will give him, onone of the wrecks in CA caused due to failing brakes the guy was sentenced to 7yrs 4 months; this one killed 2 people, and he needed an interpreter also even though he had been a pastor at a church in MA for 15 yrs; guess he must never have had a working knowledge of English or else this is just a cop out for them to use.

i would assume that its just a cop out...ya know when i first started driving truck i really thought most of the regulations were bogus!!! which some of the stuff they come up with i still dont understand but...i can see why they only want you driving for so long no matter who you are you funtionality after so long is comprimized and this could happen to any of us i think...where we are hauling right now we dont have to run a log book because we are just hauling local and i know guys that will run for 24hrs they look like zombies...not good to be next to them sometimes

    Hang him.

Eff it. Just effing hang him. If I were related to the family that was killed, I'd be more than happy to pull the lever.

Don't have that here in Nebraska but I would LOVE to see them fire up the old chair again and not just for the driver. Way I see it they need to drag those low lifes in chicago (no offense to any other poeple from chicago) that gave the moron a licence down here and fry them as well! Way I see it blood ain't just on the drivers hand it's on theirs too.
