I'll never see another scale ticket like this...

My tickets looked like that all the time which is why I stopped weighing them since I knew my system of determining the correct hole worked. I bragged to a buddy about how I never have to get weighed anymore and that I always get it even or very close. He tested me and asked which hole to put a 41000 load 8 feet from the door. I told him the seventh hole and it was perfectly even when he weighed it. It is not hard to do once you see enough loads. I look at the tires and when I first pull off I barely give it fuel to see how much the truck struggles to pull it to know if it is uneven or not. It is rare but twice someone put all of the weight on the end of the trailer, but I noticed it when my rear tires were flatter than the rest and my truck struggled more up hills. I put the tandems to the 10th hole and weighed it and it had to be in the 12th to be even! I was still legal though.

 

I work for Knight and they do lot of heavy loads and lot of place will load me heavy in the ### end alot and be light in the front. so i always scale my heavy loads out unless i know i will be driving through oklahoma or texas then i dont

 

Don't bet on the Scales in OK or TX being closed, might be an expensive bet to loose.

 

WTG on the correct hole. Wish I could switch with u. Scaled this load of paper; (4x). too heavy in the back, too heavy then on the drives, then one last shot and got it even..........then.......the spring holding up the airlines decided to bust apart so now I am bungee-corded all over the place holding up the airlines and I'm in KY and I agree with the last comment. TX scales are usually open and so are the KY ones. Always better safe than sorry in case u got DOT guy with bug up his &^%$* that day

 

Yeah a lot of places I go to have the same product from front to back, but when I get weird broker loads at 45000+ pounds that is when I look at the tires and see how much the truck lifts when pulling off and how it climbs hills. I also like to drive with half fuel when I get such a load since I hardly go out west where fuel stations are spread out more.

 

That was good loading on their part and good calculation on yours, perhaps a little 2 heavy for the steers u had plenty of legroom to slide the 5th wheel back a bit its a smoother ride. Question...out here on the westcoast we are good even at 12500 max as long as all axles and gross are good some tractors are funny that way.

 

I used to play that game in Texas.
It does seem Texas scales are closed more than they open. Just saying don't ever bet on it.

Some day you're going to need it to be closed and it wont be.
