Will be picking up my NY Class AM (NTM end.) license next week. Crete is trying to find me a slot for training, 4 weeks plus 4 weeks, or 8 weeks obviously.
I think I can probably pack my tractor when I get it assigned and (eventually) bring it home.
I'm wondering what to pack for 8 weeks of training, though. Obviously I'll have to pack as light as possible, seeing as two people will be in a rather small tractor. But 8 weeks? I don't have even 3 weeks worth of clothes, so will need to do laundry somewhere.
Besides the obvious pants, shirts, underwear, socks (as much of each as I can scrounge up), toothbrush, razor, etc. . .
What would be useful for training? More to the point, what will I regret that I did NOT pack? -Dave

Undies and socks, you can never have enough of them, because even when you won't shower, you WILL change them. But don't forget any meds you take, heavy(or medium) coat, raincoat (if you have one, otherwise get one), flipflops (don't shower with barefeet or you will get athlete's foot), some instant sanitizer is handy (esp for WET turlet seats), a laundry bag (wally world sells em for a buck).
Oh, my head is hurting from all this thinking, I will add to this list later. -

No problem dude, you can get small bottles of detergent/clorox type stuff once you have you own truck, or after you're in trainers truck, from a wally-world type store.
If you wear contacts, don't forget your glasses and plenty of cleaning solution. I also like to carry some Tylenol,Ibuprofen,Immodium, and mylanta/tums. You WILL need some/all of these at some point.lammchop558 Thanks this. -
Throw some baby or handi wipes in, they are great on that day you may not get a shower, hand lotion is good too, my hands get very dry especially in this cooler weather.

Paper Towels (checking oil, sneezing, spilling, too helpful)
Long Johns (keeps you warm even when you have the heat on =D)
Shampoo (Try to grab the Shampoo + Conditioner in one)
Body Wash (I used the Old Spice)
Mouthwash (Small bottle)
An Atlas would be helpful as soon as you can get one so you can do your own trip planning with your own stuff.
Some kind of entertainment for downtime when youre not sleeping. Handheld game, books, etc. -

How about this docked thread at the top of this section:

The TTR Forum is just loaded with docked threads on most everything you would want to know. -
Another dead thread resurrection.
No, this isn't supposed to be a newb or student packing list either.
It's what I have been putting together for myself this last week. -
don't forget to bring your futon to sleep on
