You have to start somewhere and get seat time. LOL.. Guess solo isnt the right path for a person wanting alot of driving experience.LOL

Huh?? How do you get more "driving experience", which I define as "seat time", driving with a team vs. solo? :biggrin_25512:

O.K. Good for you. That is our Morristown MOR terminal. I meet a driver from there in Nashville M-F at night. That is one of our largest terminals. I think you will like it there. Teams make good money from the start. Pay attention, be safe, and you will make a lot of money.

Tricky Rick man you said the same exact thing the TM told me he also told me that he's glad I came in at a young age and he think I will like it, man I love it everyone is stress free they have so many different things you can do from P&D to spot picks and runnin line hauls on the weekend man I told the guy I plan to remain humble learn...learn...learn, be safe and show up whenever im called upon just to show my appreciation for the opportunities. i got the guy who won the 2012 national truck driving award training me on pulling doubles so I know I will be good, ima just keep praying and do my best, but thanks for the encouraging words i really appreciate them and glad to be apart of a GREAT company....

allaroundusa27-you will do great. Pay attention, think things thru, always take the safe action. ODFL will give you time to do it right. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Almost every driver will go out of their way to help you. You are out of Charlotte, right? I don't know any drivers from there, but we have a real family atmosphere throughout the company. I believe we are a great company to work for, too.

yes out of clt, and it is a family atmosphere here also, it seems so un real though its not many trucking outfits like odfl i left foodservice where my projected 1st yr salary range was 73-75k to join odfl cause its not all about money, I like the fact that at odfl you will have a piece of mind and family time cause they do not try to run you in the ground, so anyone on this blog if you can get on with odfl by all means go for it, if a guy can put in 60 yrs with a company that say alot about this company so Im ready for this challenge...

    My terminal is WhitePine,TN
Old Dominion seems to be very safe company to drive for. I love everything I've done so far.
My Pre-trip is done. Now I have to go on November 12 to a class. I already have a cdl permit too.
I will then go out to the city and drive with a trainer for 5 days. Then linehaul training for 3 weeks after.
All time with a trainer is paid at 12.25 and hour.
I then return and test with our safety manager/state examiner and I then have my CDL. I will be paid 53.9 cents a mile driving team.

    ladyfire Thanks this.
