I am looking for other drivers opinion on this.
If your driving down the road and a vehicle or big truck pass you, you see something wrong with their vehicle. How far do you go to get their attention?
In my case, I was traveling sb I35e out of dallas. I had a tractor trailer pass me and his left mudflap was hanging off, not just only the mudflap but the big ole Chunk of steel that is a bracket also is dangling there too. I tried to get his attention flashing lights and all but he didnt stop. The bad thing was I was in a SLOW truck and couldnt catch him. other drivers were trying to get his attention but he kept going.
All I could see was that bracket falling and skipping through a windshield or something. . I am curious to see if anyone would just ignore it or do something about it.
wrong or right? flagging down a damaged truck

would try to do something to get his attention....but most drivers nowadays dont have their CB on....hope he stops and sees it before someone is hurt....

I usually try, but I am not always successful. I was trying to get a guys attention in my car the other day and when we finally stopped side by side he looked he was ready to beat me. When I finally got his attention to the keys on the running board all was good.

Call the fuzz on him.

Try to get him on the CB. If he has it off and my truck is fast enough I have pulled beside a guy and held up the mic to get his attention when he looks over.

I was west- bound on I - 10 in Florida yesterday, had a large car pulling a van pass me, he was hammer down. Problem was his back door on the trailer was open, swinging in the wind. Nobody could get his attention, his radio was not on, so we tried to tell him, but he just kept trucking. Guess he finally found out.

I've flashed lights and hit the air horn/held up the mic ect some just give ya the dumb deer in the head lights look.CAXPT Thanks this. -
today, scattered showers, 4 wheelers scattered along I64 east, hydroplaned as usual. saw one in the hammer lane against the guardrail, pointed the wrong way. warned no fewer than half dozen trucks, only responce i got was from couple of wide loads. result, got home and read in news that one dead from semi hitting a car at the same mm.
sure felt bad about the whole deal. i usualy run the radio always when away from the truckstops, wish that fellow had. -
I had to many thoughts pop into my head, and the traffic was heavy so I didnt want to be caught in a traffic jam cause of this so I called the Highway patrol, I know some drivers would be pissed off that someone called the fuzz, But most of us would appreciate this cause of the outcome of this could be catastrophic if the chunk of meta went through someones windshield. The dispatcher asked me " If i thought it could e a safety issue"? I told her if that reaks lose atthe wrong time they would have more work than to pull him over in time.
