I went through cdl training about eight years ago currently have a valid New Hampshire CDL, but I never went for a driving job. I am interested in a driving career at this point as I am tired of working in retail environment. I would like to know what the best avenue is to get retrained. Would I have to pay for CDL again or would it be a refresher course.

If you look around, some carriers have their own CDL schools that would put you through the process/refresher course, then through their "Training Program" to get you back up to speed, because I believe otherwise you will have to go back to a regular school, which would cost more money in the beginning but would increase your choices as far as who you can go to work for.

Thank you for your reply. Are there good companies that will hire right out of a private school with no experience?

Companies like FFE and Covenant have free refresher courses (lasts 14 days).
